Good support means a lot to me now. I bought the MARK III Iron Man Suit from DO3D, and it has pieces that have interference with no scaling. Reached out to them several times with no response. I scrapped the project and learned a $100 lesson. I will definitely use the independent modelers you mentioned going forward.

Like many other potential hobbies, 3D printing is a wide and deep rabbit hole! Because most of us cannot sculpt, we turn to robots (3D printers) to help us turn our imagination into something tangible. I am still debating with myself to learn all about not just the printing part but also the painting aspects - all of which are a very daunting mountain of information and skill to acquire, versus just continuing to purchase items made by professionals which I can then immediately enjoy. This video helped me understand where the files can be obtained. I enjoyed your presentation and appreciate the closing outtake. I have done something similar when teaching online classes. I will record a 10+ minute lecture, go to preview it, and in haste click the delete/record button versus the save button and do a face palm such as yours. (after a lot of NSFW language of course) 😧

Are all 3d designs scalable up or down to fit an individual print plate or is there a standard these modelers use to display the Plate size required to print their free or paid items? I want to try ask these questions before finding out that maybe we picked a limiting printer. Thank you for any feedback! Cheers

First time seeing your video. Very nice! I'll let you eviscerate me: I think having some 3D design skills is pretty helpful, especially if you find something that's MOSTLY what you want, but not exactly. I've designed some practical items, such has trim rings for my deck rails, an Apple Pencil holder for my iPad, stuff like that. Where it's helped is that I have some promotional items for my business. In that case, I'll use an item, then use Fusion 360 to add my information to the model (imprinting). That said, I'm trying to expand my design skills, especially with Blender, so I can do some looney tunes and other characters - I'm an animation fan. Similar to what RedDadSteve does on Printables. I agree that it's not absolutely critical, but if you don't learn at least something simple like Tinkercad, you might be limiting your option unnecessarily - something like Tinkercad is pretty easy to pick up for basic stuff. Good advice about non-printable files.

Some of the files that I have purchased from Do3D finish up crashing prusaslicer because they are too high of resolution. How do you deal with that?

One thing about Blender, it's amazing because you can download a Blender file, import in in Blender, then export it to an STL or OBJ file which I'm not 100% sure, but I think that files from Blender are able to be printed. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
