Thanks for the toroid...I mean toe-roid information. My first ever concert was Iron Maiden in Oxford, England in 1982 (my old man was in the Air Force).

Great video❗️Sometimes I have a hard time finding out which toroid I need for the UNUN I want to build, do you have suggestions for the 1/1, 9/1, 49/1 and 64/1 I was looking for some at the Orange Ham Fest in SE Texas and didn’t see a single one ☝️. Thanks for your Great Videos. 73 KV5P

Thanks Mike, glad you liked it. I use ferrite cores for what you have listed not the powdered iron cores. For a 1:1 I would use mix 31 and mix 43 for the others. 👍

Nice one Ape. In the UK I usually use Mouser or RS electronics. On something slightly different, have you seen this video? If so whats your thoughts? I want to build another smaller EFHW and thinking about this core and winding. 73 kzread.info/dash/bejne/X4uhlJmDoMbXZ6w.html

Hey Colin, O did see that some time ago but haven’t tried the smaller core. I guess I have to add that to the list. I have used Mouser in the past but only for stuff that was hard to find. 👍

I would highly recommend Bob at Balun Designs. Get guy who knows his stuff. I like Amidom too great people. Sadly the one I highly DO NOT recommend is Palomar, total rip off. I spent 1xx.xx on a multi tap balun 4:1/9:1 and it had 4 tiny little cores with ?Able size wire 18 Awg rated at 1kw plus which we all know is crap. I ve also herd same kinda bad stuff from others that bought 3/5kw balun that melted down under 1kw

Hey Kevin, Balun Designs are good folks. I was talking more from just buying toroids or “parts” not so much antennas, you make a good point though. 👍
