Great video! Thank you for posting. I couldn't see the images of the calibration / standard plugs, but if anyone's wondering, the calibration standard with no center pin is the open standard (which makes sense). The smaller standard with the center pin is the standard for a short. And finally, the larger standard with the center pin is the 50 ohm standard.

Great video Ape. Pricey but nicely put together. Just purchased a AA-55 zoom for easy field work, need to do a quick comparison.

One particular feature on this device that no one seems to discuss is the L/C match for source ZO=50. It actually provides possible matching network values to compensate for mismatch in a particular configuration. (Main Menue-Marker-SmithValue-L/C match). Perhaps their answer to simsmith. Would make a great video

Thanks for checking out the video Frank. I was looking at the 64 as well, the specs look pretty good but I did see what someone was having noise problems, turns out it was internal noise being generated when connected to a computer.

I saw that! If you’re following the ginormous thread by Joe Smith on the EEVBlog Forum, his software dev works with both VNAs. One of his latest KZread’s covers the Litevna 64. 73

Excellent video1 Watching this let's me understand my rigexpert pro. Also makes me think I should have purchased the VNA, but I think mine is good enough for my skill set. BTW it's way out of my range, so I got a lot to learn. Thanks!

Rig Expert devices are probably the absolute best tools for a newbie to get (think getting a Rolls Royce as your first car). The one thing I hate about GMRS and HAM online forums is that they constantly try to force NanoVNAs down the throats of every account with two posts or less. While I can understand from a "pro" standpoint why they absolutely love their NanoVNAs, recommending them to a newbie has got to be the dumbest thing I've ever seen, and that sort of thing needs to stop in the ham and GMRS communities.

Hey Adam, what VNA do you have? If the one you have covers the frequencies you want I'm sure you are fine, some used harmonics to measure higher frequencies. I'd recommend something like this one if you needed to measure into 4Ghz which is not common for most hams.

Thanks for the video, but the titel suggests a review and you said a deep dive, but it turns out you do the basic calibration, show the Amazon site, start the software and explain some basic ham/antenna stuff. After this review of this specific vna I don't know much about the unit itself. No information what so ever. Oh yeah, I have seen one can flip the screen 😂
