Watch the bearing on the shaft coming off the gearbox also. That bearing and the smaller belt drive roll bearing I’m told are the most likely to fail on those balers. I’ve had a gearbox shaft bearing go out. About 17,000 bales on the machine.

this is my 4th new new holland ..... i have had more of them apart more than i like to admit lol...

@@tedkahler9738 I’ve had 5 NH round balers. Currently run #s 4 and 5 which are Specialty Crop 560s, and still have #1 lurking in the shed which is a BR780A. These have all been overall really good machines. The 560s fixed some weaknesses in the BR generation but the wrap system is less reliable.

thanks yea ened up with quite a few bales... amazing what some fertilizer and rain will do

I broke that roller in half on my baler this summer hahah 3200$ with new bearings

I remember when you bought that Baler couple/few years ago. How many bales you got on it now? I generally like New Holland equipment but I do think they don’t stand behind their products as good as other ag companies.

Corporate is terrible... really sucks with Titan Machinery weaseling out a ton of private dealerships along the way, and even into Canada with RME. New Holland does make some good machines but the support does seem to lack unless you know someone. Still think Vermeer has the best baler on the market. I can't believe the amount of Vermeers I saw the past couple years, even some die-hard green guys I saw running some this year, both the older Ms or the new Ns.

around 10 k bales i think.... from what i hear its a ag equipment issue in a whole with standing behind their equipment
