With the first CS2 case, I would assume that it would be a Valve-made case. The first case is sure to set the tone for cases moving forward, and I'm sure they will be on all new weapon models. I would imagine that Valve would want to showcase what can be done on the new models with the new options available, as well as set a new standard for skins in the process. And also because it would be a really bad look if the game got another controversy around copyright on the very first case, and a Valve-made case could help prevent that.

@@faceless1646 I don't know where you got that idea from, they are actively in the CS Reddit looking for bugs and talking to the players and update the game almost twice a week with fixes. Valve might be slow at times and might even stop working on games cause of interest *cough* TF2 *cough* but they seem to be heavily listening and patching the worst bugs. Valve wouldn't be where they are today if they didn't care about their players and they know it.

I also think they are working on skins for utility, because in your loadout in-game you can see slots for smoke grenades, HEs etc. I wonder if they want to kick of the new cases for cs2 with utility skins aswell. They might come in a separate case or in a capsule-like container like the graffitis or stickers. That might be the reason why we dont have a new case already.

Sticker positions are still broken. I had a UMP that read “lucky ump” in foils. Now it says “ump lucky” with a giant gap.

They really need to fix what they have before giving us any more skins. Plus Anubis wasn't that long ago (which I should also add gave me a strange feeling about the future of cases from the get-go). The devs interview posted today seems to confirm we probably aren't getting much new content in the near future. If anything I can see Danger Zone dropping soon, maybe on two new maps or something to keep us busy in the meantime.

Anubis was a collection necessary for the souvenir packages, not the same thing as a case.

I would agree - but I guess we and Valve have to take a compromise. We see that it might be very difficult to match GO Skins in CS2. Devs stated that it is rly a thing porting things or better said, writing them from scratch in another engine. There are so many updates and "fixes" for skins which breaks other skins .. and I think that is the point where we have to have a dialouge, all together. If we say that we are okay with the fact that there are skins that just look different valve could focus on the new models, new finishes. This would help I guess - BUT - and that is my "dissagree" on that - then THEY have to make the first case - cause porting other skins from workshop has the same problem. And as they have made the step of releasing (which was good) they have set the pace for first fixing the core gameplay - 5 months and the 1st major will be held .. would expect that within this time nothing will happen - with regards to NEW content

Honestly, it would be pretty bad if they release a new case while the game state is like this Plus its valve they will prio player experience before making a quick buck

in CS:GO the first thing they added was a Operation so i would have to think that they would be giving us a case with it.

Id rather them keep doing fixes, changes, polls for what we want to see, community fixes, matching making changes ( i hate running into 5 man teams playing solo ), ect. Before they add a case to make money off the rip in the game.

You wanted a new CS with the Source 2 engine. You got it! Now, with every engine port there are problems and bugs will appear. This happened to CS2 as well. Now you want bugs fixed. But in the same time, you want a new case or a new operation, before the bugs and game breaking issues are resolved. If you will get a case, you will say that Valve only cares about money and they should fix the important problems with the game and not release a case. I wonder if any of the players asking for stuff from Valve knows what they want in the 1st place?!

Anyone consider CS2 is the new update?

Fix game before new content. I see all the youtubers that focus their content on skins, cases and gambling are complaining about no new content and I'm guessing it's because the view count is plateauing or dropping. That's not Valves concern as their primary concern is getting the game in the most stable state possible, which should be lauded as the greatest thing since sliced bread as it goes against the current trend in video games(focusing on short term profits). Adding new content now will likely bring about more problems on top of the problems we already have, so give Valve a break already and let them work their magic.

The operation should have been released on the launch day in the first place. Release of CS2 literally changed nothing, the hype was not even there as anyway most of people were already able to play beta - which was basically indentical - for like a month already. It only made so the community was no longer splitted between CS:GO and CS2. A new operation could have somewhat compensated the issues this game is facing, give some alternative game modes and actually bring more people from outside and build up the hype with new collections and stuff.

The argument to me that skins are “broken” doesn’t make sense to me. Like it’s been made abundantly clear and as everyone knows, it’s a new game. New engine, sounds, slightly different mechanics for things like smokes; it’s a different game. Same thing goes for the art direction. CS2 is not the same art style as GO. That’s made abundantly clear in main menu music, new graphics and more “e-sporty” approach, rather than a “gritty” and instead counter terrorist versus terrorist game. No wonder the skins look different that’s the point. They’re not broken, it’s a new game with new art direction. It’s not hard to comprehend people. Now, if you were to say, yeah the new ones look worse, then fine, that’s an opinion and nothing wrong with that. And, if they really are trying to “fix” then, then I eat my words. But it’s a new game, they’re going to look different. There’s nothing to fix. I can’t stand the hyper fixation and complaining about how the have to fix things about skins. Again assuming that’s the direction they’re going. If these are mistakes then my point fails.)
