Where have I been? Vlog and Journal with me 008 (Along with soft stationery reviews)

It's been a while since I posted. I thought it was three months but really it's only been a month - although it feels like three months... I took a break (intentionally which turned into unintentional). A fun little catch up vid as I know some of you have been concerned about where I disappeared to.
Also a little review on stationery items acquired and the Kindle.

I discovered your channel yesterday because I’m about to go back to using the Travelers Notebook system, which I used a few years ago and abandoned (no idea why). I moved to the Hobonichi in 2018, but ever since I started traveling a lot around the world, I found it too heavy to lug around. Plus I began painting in watercolor and sketching, so I need a flexible system for my calendar, sketches & on the go painting, notes, etc. I’m going back to Japan in a few months so I get to visit the Kyoto Travelers Factory store, whose opening I attended when I lived in Kyoto. Lots of unique special edition items are sold there. I will also buy a new fountain pen. Itoya in Ginza (Tokyo) is my favorite place to buy fountain pens, inks, Midori paper, etc., the whole universe of Japanese stationery and pens! Thank you so much for your videos. They are helpful for someone about to plunge again into the world of the Travelers Notebook. I can’t buy the whole store, so your videos are helping me decide what to buy.

Hi @isolde100. Thank you for stopping by. Right off the bat, I have envy about both your residency in Japan and your trip(s) to the Travelers Factory store! And a new pen !! That's fantastic and I wish you the best in your stationery endeavors. I'd also love to hear what product(s) and pens you end up picking up. Glad to have you along for the journey. Take care, safe travels and warm wishes!

Hi Frank, nice to see you again. Sorry to hear about your nasty illness and it wasn't even Covid! You'll find your own way with the whole ink/swatch/notebook thing. I've tweaked mine a bit of late. I just saw that Jet Pens have a new washi style see thru skinny tape that is meant for highlighting in books. You can just remove it when you're done. Might be an alternative to the Frixion writers depending on how they work for you. Happy landscaping. We sit on almost two acres (not all of it we pay attention to). But the mowing, ugh! Gardening yes, landscaping not so much. After 30 years I've been thinking of letting it all go to meadow and wildflowers. We have a pervasive line of bamboo at the back of our property that is a beast to keep from taking over everything. They call it "rivercane" here in Western NC. I love the wildlife that live close by and also traipse through-red fox, raccoons, opossum, groundhogs, chipmunks, squirrels, bunnies, birds, hawks, wild turkey, deer, and black bear. It's fun to see the mamas with their cubs. They hang in the bamboo when it's hot. Yes I have to keep an eye out not to surprise them or them me!

Hi Paula! I'll have to check out this highlighter washi tape! It sounds like you're living my dream lifestyle. Somewhere out in the country on an acreage with lots of wildlife and nature around. I can picture racoons springing at me from the bamboo lol Take care and I hope you have a lovely day!

I'm so glad you are back! I was getting worried that you had tired of the whole vlogging thing. I'm sorry to hear you were sick and that your family got ill as well. That sort of fever is no joke! Congrats on the new kitties! Shadow really is stunning. How are you finding "The Bone Clocks"? I read the wiki entry and it sounds like a wild ride.

:) It's taking me a little bit to get into the bone clocks and so far it has subverted all my expectations of a fantasy novel. It's interesting because fiction isn't usually my go to genre and I tend to read it only to help me fall asleep. This one can keep me awake reading. Are you a fellow reader?

@StationeryAt4 I read mainly sf, fantasy, and horror. I haven't read anything by that author but they seem to pack a lot into their books! I always recommend "John Dies at the End" to everyone, if you are looking for something to try!
