I have been watching since early last year and never commented. Just want to say how much you inspire me in every video and yours is my favorite channel! Your daffodil message was for many, including me. My husband passed away a little over a year ago. He was a purple heart recipient and USMC Vietnam veteran. Much like Miah in the way he did things and the way he supported me. I am like you and feel all the feels. We were meant to be together and your videos bless me so much in watching the two of you, not to mention your beautiful family. Even though I am older, my son and grandson and I aspire to do on a small scale some of the things you are doing. I grew food in the backyard last year and this year...adding chickens. :)

You are such a gifted teacher! It is so fun to hear you chat through complex information in the most clear and seemingly simple ways. One of the most freeing things in the world is to realize that there is no reason for us to know the things we’ve never explored or experienced before- and that it is always ok to ASK. Thank you for all the things you share with us. Your wisdom is sown deep into families in ways you and your family will truly harvest for generations. Blessings!

I’m sure you have heard this before. But watching your KZread channel has changed my life. I was first to just not care about waste, I had never really thought about gardening (we were always in an apartment or rental) but we purchased our first home last April, I found your channel this winter and we have HUGE plans for a garden as big as we can fit. We live in town so not a whole lot of land. But my husband also watches your channel if he’s home and he have so much inspiration to find our dream home with lots of land to raise a lot of our own food and animals. You have changed my outlook on life. So THANK YOU.

Regarding Adele loving her babies but not feeding them, a sheep producer (Sandi Brock) had a similar experience with one of her ewes. She ended up haltering and tying up the ewe, putting the lambs on her and blocking her from kicking the lambs off. I think over about four days or so the ewe progressed to letting them nurse without being tied up or haltered. Regardless of whether you try this or not, hope everything goes well with Adele and her kids.

You can take that tough kale and use it to make massaged kale salad. It is one of my favorite salads. Just take your salad dressing of choice and give your kale leaves once they are cleaned and destemmed and give them a good strong massage with the dressing until the kale color darkens. It tenderizes the leaves and gives them a really unique flavor. I love it.

The next time she had babies she started to kick them away and my dad immediately tied her up, including the hind legs, until she calmed down while the babies were nursing and she was great afterwards. I think some first time mom's, including a mare I had, have really tender teets and push the babies away. Hope this helps! I didn't know the seed pods for radishes or kale was edible. Interesting. I also had been wondering about your compost pile, so thank you for showing that.

One of our does has a terribly lopsided udder. She had it before we got her. She has no problem raising triplets with essentially 1 teat functioning though.

I planted 10 potatoes between two 10 gallon grow bags yesterday here in south central MI! Will likely bring them in on colder nights. I'm sure we'll get the usual late April snow storm XD Sorry to hear about your barn troubles :( Can't wait to be able to plant along with you

Good for you! I am in Oregon too and I will put in my peas tomorrow. I got a variety that works well in a container. We'll see how it fairs on the deck.

I love your channel! Id love to hear more about your leeks. I’m starting some for the first time this year, and just now started seeds. Now I’m worried it’s too late!

I guess I do commentary for our animals too. My 5 year old always asks me what they're saying. I didn't realize I do it that much!
