Interesting video, I live in St Julian's in a veeeeery tiny and budget apartment, so seeing all this wealth around me every day is quite strange sometimes. Also, I work in Mdina and it is true that a lot of old nobles families (Testaferrata, Inguanez, Gatto... That is why the city is called "Città Notabile" it italian, the noble city) have houses here, mostly secondary, but when they come for some days the parking area in front of the Cathedral is full of fancy cars. There is as well some mansions in Rabat (street Santu Wistin for example). If you want to have a glimpse of what a Maltese noble house looked like, I recommand you Palazzo Falson in Mdina for the Medival/Knight era and Palazzo Parisio in Naxxar for the modern days. PS : Noticed the "YF" 👌

You're right, re building @ 5:32, that's the sort of building some (not most) build in Australia - cheap looking concrete expensive BOXES with no character, most painted grey with black "single glazed" windows. Hey Alex I know there is a Beautiful Cafe in Mellieha it called Sew View Cafe/Bar just near the church and Cemetery if you go there you will see that Gorgeous view like you can see a Mellieha Beach or a Red Castle or a Building or mansions etc or you can take video if you see the sunset I mean this place is gorgeous you can sit down drinking coffee ☕️ and see that gorgeous view they have great cafe donut etc I mean you should go there it’s stunning. Loved your videos

We did a road trip at new year around Malta so it was nice to reminisce. I worked in Malta around 25 years ago and loved it then. One of the hotels I worked in I think now has been knocked down and those expensive apartments are there in Sliema . A food video would be great as there are pockets of Malta which have amazing food also the story behind the restaurant owners would be good. Love your videos

The Medina Restaurant in the very last scene, is in the Michelin guide. My girlfriend and I visited a week. Really excellent food.

Hi Alex i just found you on youtube, can you please make a video on the healthcare system in Malta please. Me and my wife got to the point where we need to change from Ireland to a more sunny place. What is a salary for a medical scientist in a pathology lab in hospitals or in private laboratories with 5 years of experience? Here in Dublin the healthcare system pays ridiculously low wage for this job. Me personally i am a gas engineer, as Malta is a warm country is there a need for domestic gas engineers there? Thank you for you answer and keep up the good work.

I think this is the best Alex’s video i mean he wanted some kind of like fun or adventure before this video was released I think the best video is Top 3 Expensive houses in Malta 🇲🇹 but when this video was released I loved it it’s batter than the top 3 it’s because of adventure the Top 3 was a bit short but this one is longer The top 3 went to 3 cities but this one maybe where he went is maybe like 6 or 7 So l think this the Best Alex’s video of all time

I prefer a house of character and open land around it. For me, that is rich. These places look confind, closed in, too crowded.

I love the house of characters as well, or apartments in smaller blocks. Btw, unfortnuately the villas are all gated so on the video you cant really see. However, i do have friends living in villas and the real picture is that once you step a foot from the main gate you are entering in a completely other world (outdoor gardens, indoor gardens, waterfalls, pools, tennis court, golf coarts u name it its there)🥰

🤣🤣🤣 never know in life maybe I ll become super rich !!!!!However if I ever live in Malta, Sliema is an area that I m fond of! Have a nice day!

Bro I am doing part time work in balt and I am going all over the country almost everyday. When ever I go to Melliha OMG it s an insane.

Because I read an article that mentioned how rich people are moving to Malta for unspecified reasons, and I got curious. The 'closest' thing to Malta I know was that level in Splinter Cell: Conviction.

I think you mentionned a relevant point about the empty appartments. Everybody is wondering who are the owners and why so many flats are empty. It would be great if you could investigate thanks to your contacts and make a video. At the end I would be very interested to know the percentage of empty flats, the time needed to sale a flat, to find a tenant to let, etc ...

I think owners are so wealthy that they don't really know what to do with their money and they don't give a f* about it being empty most of the time. I agree it is stupid but still it is like that.

I love Portomaso. Living there would be great but I can't afford it, unfortunately.

Well I don't understand why so many apartments are empty in Portomaso. I think the explanation is that some people are so rich that they only come over in Malta a few weeks or even a few days per year and they don't care if they don't get any money out of it during the rest of the year. That is too bad cause I guess many people would be interested in renting it for a more convenient price.

You finished at the most photographed door in Malta.

one thing i feel both rental sites and estate sales sites seems to not mention is the price relative to the size. in other words, cost per square meter, which in a sense is a go-to when both renting and buying. you could fork out millions, but the question then remain, how much space does that give you. not watched full video yet, but thats something you could consider to edit in if you havnt done it already.

In my country (Macedonia) we calculate the price as per sqm. Here in Malta the prices are based on areas, num of bedrooms and floor

Alex, I was once told that the bigger the hedge and the higher the boundary wall is, the richer they are!

The thing is, what you pay for a decent apartment in Malta you can buy a huge Villa with a pool in Spain. It’s a no brainier, Malta is very bad value for money, and I used to live there! Glad I got out.

In 2008 till 2012 I could buy one dozen apartments in Spain because the banks collapsed, like in many other countries.Now I buy in Afghanistan and Haiti because its excellent value for money. 🤣kzread.info/dash/bejne/qHdtsqdrc8y5d6Q.html

It's a typical romanian thing:When you visit a new city/country you always want to know how much it costs to buy it or build it🤣. In Romania owning a house/apartment is a must do in life(90% of the population owns property).
