She was willingly in on the scam and would have continued scamming music fans if nobody had pointed anything out. She wanted to be famous and was eager to do whatever it took to get there, including permanently tattooing her face. She was committed and failed. That's part of the reason i don't like mainstream music nowadays, it's all fake, and there are still people that consume it and get mad if you tell those artists are not self made and supported by their rich parents.

You can’t say someone is an industry plant just because they came up in a certain era. Some people just make great, relatable music. It hits people in their soul, helps them realize they aren’t alone in shit they are going through.

I never knew about industry plants in depth until I watched an episode of Atlanta. Basically, fallen off artists, producers or managers scout for "talent" and get them a come up since they still have connections in the industry and can provide recording studios, producers, etc. Then they basically just leech off the "talent" if they make it big. Alanis Morrisette is a well known one in the 90s. She did bubblegum pop before alt music got hot, and got completely rebranded. Lots of big artists have tried to buy up and destroy old albums.

People outside Australia don’t really understand that in over here there is ONE “youth” radio station (triple J) has a total monopoly on deciding who does or doesn’t get promoted. And what they play has at least 90% perfect overlap of what acts play on all the big festivals. And until recently they’ve had the “musical director” at the top, so basically making it in Australia relied heavily on the opinion of one guy. They cancel artists too, not openly but if they decide someone is out they just stop playing them or even mentioning them. Oh I nearly forgot to mention that triple j is government funded, part of the ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) and has always had a very strong left wing, progressive bias

I watched it back, I get it now, it was poorly done, but he was tryna use lil peep as an example of the "original artist" that baby goth copied. its just the way it was done could have been more effective, like a green checkmark or an "Authentic" pop up next to peep, and then a fake pop up next to baby goth when he was showing the comparison

It's always more beneficial for the music business companies to have a producers kid, or friends kid, who has an interest in music, or a desperate girl, willing to do anything, to sign, cause they will do anything, they don't care. As long as people are talking. The music industry gives no f*cks about what happens to them after.
