@@bumblebee7547 I actually once worked in a store where the owner said that we were to try to make the customers as happy as we could, unless they were obviously wrong, since the customer is NOT always right. We were to treat everyone with respect, but we were also to recognise that some people would try to rip off the store, and that we were to watch out for that. We had some people who would regularly try to bring things back for a refund, even though they'd already eaten most of whatever it was, or they claimed they never actually took what they paid for, even though I and/or another person had been on duty when they were in earlier. I could go on but I won't. Most of the time the customer is to be seen as right, yes, but a person has to have brains to recognise the limits of that.

As someon in the service industry, someone who lives off tips, I can tell you I always prefer a kind customer to a rude one, even if the kindness doesn't come with a tip. Serving the public is hard physical, mental, and emotional labor, and there's no good reason to make that harder.

i stated not looking at cards alltogether and just tell them what i feel like eating today...hot, cold, meaty, vegi, you name it, until they can narrow it down to one dish or drink to serve me. Not sure if im right with this but i feel like often waiters enjoy advising and helping me with what to order instead of just running around collecting orders. Its also way more enjoyable to tip these kind of waiters as i love to value the little bond we have forged about tasty food. Its part of the experience of eating. And i rather have a relaxed waiter than a stressed one of course.

@andrefasching1332 it's kind of rude to make the wait staff guess or figure out foe yiu what you want to eat. Most would prefer you actually read the menu before they come to your table to take their order. They don't have time to be playing guessing games with you. Having specific questions about the food is fine, but saying "I want to eat something meaty and hot" is probably half the menu. You're not doing them a favor by asking them to figure out what to eat for you, especially since a lot of restaurants don't give their employees any kind of gratis meals anymore, and they may not be able to afford to eat there, so they may have no idea what most of the menu even tastes like.

My dad had a customer like that in his butchers shop. Dads partner, Barry, would always serve her. He would say things like, "This is very expensive". She enjoyed talking loudly, so the other customers COULD hear and announce " don't worry Barry , money is no problem to me". Barry always overcharged her and she loved Barry's loudly announcing the total cost. I hope that's within your budget". She usually left with a satisfying smile on her face.

I remember one of my kid's first birthday. We could't afford for a cake. ANY birthday cake. I bought the ordinary cake, cut it in a round form, I've put a candle on top... Kid was happy to just blow the candle and ate like one or two bites. Today I can afford for playground and stuff. Some time ago I gave one colleague a coupon to the toy store and I told, that it has expiry date and I won't use that, which was a white lie, cause I didn't have to use bonus points at work. When I could't afford toys and cake for my kid nobody offended me like that but I remember this blasted cut-off-cake and this feeling "I-Cannot-Afford-This" till this day. If this movie is based on real situation, THANK YOU FOR TEACHING THIS AWFUL WOMAN A LESSON.

No matter hoe much they starve themselves and refuse any sort of entertainment? Wanna know what makes someone like me poorer? Rich people that have this disturbed picture that poor people should not have any nice things. I hope those people that habe said something along the lines of "oh you would serve someknr like that, oh they cant be poor they have a phone, poor people are just lazy and so on" go through the same experiences most poor people go through. THERES LITERALLY NO OTHER WAY FOR YOU TO LEARN THAT. So im grateful you just kicked that person out (even if its judt a skit). People like that need to learn how to be more caring in how they act anf speak.

She responded that no she needed me to do it at an exact time so I went and said I was not going to do the work at any price now.
