You can also substitute flax eggs (just flax seed and water) in a lot of recipes (my brother is also allergic to eggs and a lot more)

I've actually seen the opposite advice, which is to add in an extra egg and also replace the oil with butter and water with milk. Makes for a much richer and dense cake. The trouble with the eggless cake is that it doesn't keep its shape and will fall apart when you try to move it and put icing on it, and you DEFINITELY wouldn't be able to stack it.

I'm not 100% sure about healthier, at the end of the day it's a cake. making cakes from scratch is a lot funner, though. I love understanding all the different ingredients.

Their not useless, cake has always served as a major part of the privileged society. And therefore, the look of it is at many times as important or at times even more important that the taste (things like weddings, high class parties, etc.). Eggs are used as structural security, so it makes sense why they implemeted it to the ingrediants. Edit: its just not completely neccessary.

My fave lazy mufffin/cake recipe already just needs 2 ingredients (gingerbread cake boxed mix and pumpkin puree - not pie filling but pure puree). Makes quite a few moist and slightly dense "muffins", and is even better when you add some pumpkin spices. Definitely worth a try and fun for fall.

Exactly this. As a lot of cooks will tell you, the first bite is with the eye. The cake without the egg might be passable, but if that was served to me I would absolutely take note of how crumbly it was. I might not necessarily say anything about it, but it will definitely affect my impressions of the person's baking skill.

Pretty sure I remember a Factfiend episode about this. They've had the recipe to were you didn't need to add eggs like back in the 40s-50s, and they made it that way so that the housewives which were commonplace back then would have an easier time making cookies/brownies/cakes. But they felt like they weren't doing enough, and adding eggs didn't hurt so companies put eggs back on the recipe.

Ok back final count some hubba bubba expired March 2019 some ice breaker ice cubes expired 2018, 2 packs of extra watermelon expired October 2018 and September 2018 and finally some big league chew expires February2020 I have had braces for about 3 years so I haven’t chewed gum for that long welp interesting

You absolutely need eggs or something similar when working with gluten free flours. In fact there's a lot of interesting science regarding the differences with gluten free cooking and why you sometimes need to do the opposite of what you would do when cooking with gluten/wheat. Gluten free flours typically have a much higher starch to protein ratio than wheat flour or rye, for example, and so eggs not only act as an emulsifer, but add needed extra protein into the mix to account for that difference in the flours themselves.

This guy made not only an unbelievable amount of egg-celent puns, but he also made some musical references, and I’m satisfied with that

Not sure how the 2 things are comparable as a joke though. If I said, lift 250 Lbs and you said that's hard then told you solve for x in a math problem and you said oh sure and gave me the answer easily I wouldn't be like hahahaha it's funny because of easy hard things get it. Ones mental and one is physical. Cracking eggs correctly is a physical act, lore searching is just mental with research and logic, something he's done for years. This video reminded me of how long it was ago since i made a cake using a boxed cake mix😂 Making stuff from scratch kinda does need eggs since i dont think getting all the artificial stuff is a very easy thing, neither good for the stability of multi layered cakes etc

Actually, you can add condensed milk instead of egg to make it as high quality as the egg cake while tasting as good as eggless one. In India the eggless cake is more popular since there are many vegetarian people so like in birthdays and weddings and all everyone can eat the cake.

I made a cake without oil or eggs I kinda forgot but it was delicious if u buy a certant kind of cake mix and everyone in my moms work place loved it.

He spent more effort researching and filming for this episode that he would spend ever cracking eggs into cake mix.

Epic Fafnir try using apple sauce! 1/4 cup of apple sauce is equivalent to one egg! Im allergic to eggs and we use apple sauce all the time!
