It happens, though I have never been asked about my sexuality. When I was single, they would question "why" and "what is it about me you don't like", as if it was unbelievable that I wasn't interested in them. I couldn't imagine a guy asking something like that after being turned down. I never found it funny though. I admire the guts it takes to put yourself out there and take a chance.

This sketch touches on a real phenomenon. And then you don't say straight forward that you're not interested just cause you're not used to turning someone down gracefully 😆 I'm Swiss and think here it's not very uncommon for women to do "the heavy lifting". So I think I did approach more men in my life than vice versa. Too bad they'd hand out their contacts only to remain pen pals 🤦🏻‍♀️

It makes me sad that you say it's rare for men to feel pursued, because it's true that men don't get pursued nearly as often and it's something I never think about. As a woman, I take for granted that it will happen, and while it can be annoying depending on the pursuer it also makes me feel good about myself. I wish men could have more of that. They also rarely get complimented on their looks. Imma try to go out of my way more to do 'heavy lifting' :p

​@@JustLIkerapunzel Virtual hat tip for you, and to all the fine ladies taking the initiative. I used to live in The Netherlands and women there initiate as much as men do. They sorted out the gender equality thing last century. Now I live in New Zealand and that almost never happens. I miss it. If I lived in Switzerland and you asked me, I would definitely accept.
