I once wrote what I thought was a fantastic paper, analyzing Ridley Scott's _Kingdom of Heaven_ in relation to the actual historical events it is [very loosely] based on, and demonstrating how our historical context leads us to reinterpret our past into narratives that make sense to us (the movie was ultimately using the Crusader Kingdoms as a backdrop to [perhaps unintentionally] comment on the Iraq War, with little regard to the worldviews of the actual crusaders) rather than legitimately engaging with who we once were (not to say the movie was bad). My professor also thought it was a fine paper (maybe not fantastic...) but gave me a C because he wanted me to analyze the movie's interaction with the medevial concepts of duty and piety. So, uh, remember kids, make sure you read the assignment well.

@@jameswhitley4101 Here's an analysis of Ridley Scott's Kingdom of Heaven: It was boring and I fell asleep so I never finished the movie.
“We’re adults, okay? We don’t get recess, we get… depressed” I swear this one sketch has so many quotable lines it’s incredible
I feel like this is just ADHD summed up perfectly. From what I've heard from others who have to deal with it, you either physically do not have the energy or the ability to care. Or you become obsessed with finishing whatever it is that you don't even eat or sometimes sleep until it's done. Granted, these are two extremes, but still.

It’s funny, because as a cellist, this is extremely relatable. I have a few friends in my orchestra group that have had so many outside of class lessons that they don’t even need to practice the music. THEY PLAY IT ON THE SPOT. While I’m over here practicing each piece they say “oops I forgot to practice” and proceed to play it like they have been playing the song for months 😂 It’s a flex, really

I know how this feels... Except it's worse for me because I'm heavily dependent upon other people's interest in something to help drive my own motivation... The moment I am no longer in an environment where my progress is appreciated with enthusiasm, is the moment that lose interest... As a result, I'm incredibly skilled in a variety of things, but as I have no personal enthusiasm beyond a certain point, I can't really do much with that stuff. The only skills that I continue to develop are ones that have been established as being intimidating as hell... Be it from language, knowledge or psychological in nature, to even physical... I make little conscious effort to develop these skills, and that's why they're so overwhelming to others. Nothing worse than facing a person who has zero awareness of just what they're capable of doing in a given situation, and proceeding to do it without any apparent effort, or awareness of how unusual their abilities are within that context. I'm writing this from the perspective of things I have gathered from how other people see me, and not how I see myself.

this is actually one of the most relatable vids ever for me lmao
i can so relate to this video, not in music, but in other aspects of my life
My friend sent me this within an hour of it being uploaded and I feel incredibly called out and flattered at the same time.
I showed this to my mom (I’m also a pianist) and she responded, I kid you not, “oh my god, that’s like you and your brother.” Thanks so much mom, thanks.
GODDAMNIT why is this extremely relatable

I wish he filmed himself playing more in this one. But he killed it, not the less! I find him astonishingly talented and free spirited!
