Ricky Hatton fights were always exciting and entertaining and he usually won but Floyd and Manny were just on another level. Having those guys as your only two losses + a loss to Senchenko after a 3 year retirement is nothing to be ashamed about. He was one of my favorite fighters back in the day

Pirog had a totally original style. He'd switch from orthodox to southpaw multiple times, often squaring himself up; which technically is a big no-no. With any other boxer at least. I love boxers with unusual styles, like Lomachenko and James Toney.

Same thought, but I think the ref already called him out and didn't want the fighter to risk further injury by suddenly getting up. He hit the ground pretty hard and I'm guessimg the ref just wanted to make sure it wouldn't get any worse, especially if he has a concussion which would cause dizziness and him to fall down again.

I loved that the video set up and followed up after the loss of the fighters. All good matches. 3 fighters that I like a lot, Pirog, Jacobs and GGG! I do think that Jacobs got robbed vs GGG. Holmes is another favorite. Shame that people look at Cooney poorly. He was tough, hit hard and gave Holmes a tenacious fight. 15 rounders back then were almost like legalized murder. Floyd was fire then and that check hook out of the corner is like standard operating procedure now for elite fighters. Nice video!

Pirog vs Jacobs wasn't even close. Pirog totally outclassed Jacobs. The American commentators werebao biased for Jacobs the the entire fight except for the great boxing coach Emanuel Stuart to realized early on Pirog was a problemnfor Jacobs. He was the only commentator pointingnout the obvious while the others kept highlighting Jacobs. The Americans were so biased that after the match they interviewed Jacobs the loser, instead of Pirog, the winner.

Man every fighter in that division is lucky Pirog retired. He was by FAR the best in that division. Excellent fight with a really old school style. He reminded me of Hagler the way he switched stances with ease. He absolutely smashed Jacobs and wouldve smashed everyone else. Such a shame he got injured. And Cooney wasn't exactly a great fighter but that left hook is his was no joke. Jesus that hook was phenomenal. He would've destroyed all the Heavyweights of today. And Holmes was an incredible fighter too. If Ali around, Holmes would be known as the best Heavyweight of that era. One of the best jabs ever, a killer right hand, fast, threw combos, fantastic chin and great stamina. They don't make Heavyweights like that anymore. He was probably the last great well rounded skilled Heavyweight.. If he fought Tyson in his prime he would've won easily. And Ricky Hatton was talented but damn his fights were ugly to watch. Very unpleasant style to watch. Hit, clinch, hit, clinch, hit, clinch....it's funny how people actually gave him a chance against Floyd and Manny. He was a good fighter but far from elite. He beat Castillo and Tszyu when they were shot fighters. They would've destroyed him in their primes.

Was entirely racial. Cooney was painted as the great white hope when black fighters had dominated the heavyweight division for years. And Holmes was always hated because of the Ali fight where he was forced to fight an Ali who was not only a shot fighter, but was already showing signs of Parkinson's. He did his job like he was suppose but was seen as a bully for beating up Ali. Was really shitty and he didn't deserve that. Holmes actually broke down after the fight and cried because of it. It was the promoters and Ali's management who should've been seen as the bad guys as they shouldn't have had him near a ring.
