When Trail Cams Go Wrong: Food For Thought
Үй жануарлары мен аңдар
I found some old footage where I tempted the local wildlife with food for thought. Trail cams go wrong when I'm expecting a feeding frenzy and end up with nothing. Nevermind...there's always my first ever Kingfisher!!

Great video interesting what animals like and don't like. I didn't see the kingfisher that you was talking about with the stick easily done with all these video clips. Maybe put it in the next with the dog food cat food experiment.

Great video! And it's always fun to experiment!
Hey Dan. Interesting video. Perhaps you could get animal bones from a local butcher cheaply. You could anchor or somehow secure them to the ground or a tree. The bone marrow should attract the meat eaters and if they can't carry the bones off they should stay in front of the cameras and chew on them.
That mink is doing well there terrorising the rabbits . I thought i was going mad i watched the end of video over again thinking i was missing the kingfisher especially as people commented on how nice it was . But i can see it was mistakenly left off 😊 thank god i was starting to worry then

Nice video 👍
That kingfisher is lovely. Always good to see the mink too. You should read up on what foods they like see if you can get us a closer look 😊
Good video suprised nothing touched the ham can't wait for more
Hi Dan just watched your video had no time yesterday. was very interesting. If you put that in the forest here in Berlin the wild pigs are maybe the foxes and raccoons would eat everything. I think you should use raw meat there’s salt in the ham. Good luck with your next experiments 👍🥰❤️

I didn't know there were raccoons in Berlin. I went in the forests everyday for years and never saw one.

Hi Dan there are raccoons in Berlin and other places in Germany. villages around Berlin and in west Germany. Your videos are great
Next to the other foods you put out , you should set out two bowels. One with water and the other John Smith's .
did you miss out the muntjac & kingfisher on purpose DAN, naughty man

I feed wild magpies for a couple years on dry dog food they love it, they like it better when I soak it in water the wild baby’s eat out of my hand
We have been putting our expired and leftovers out Texas has been hot no rain all summer and now about 8 crows come and have a great time !
Interesting set of experiments. I think it would be and interesting variation for the meat v fruit if the meat was raw and a different fruit, berries or apples/pears maybe. Not sure if I'm missing it but I didn't see the Kingfisher? They're a beautiful bird and I've handled one when i was a kid. We used to have patio sliding doors and occasionally birds flew in to them and once it was a Kingfisher. Knocked him groggy for a few minutes but he flew off after he recovered.
What a tease you are telling us about the kingfisher then not editing it in 🤣

@@DesperateDanDiscovers I suppose I can forgive you, just this once 🤣
What did you see?
Nail the food down with tent pegs, I used to do this with chicken on courses it just stops animals such as foxes going in and picking the food up and legging it gives them a bit of work to get their food 😉👍

There isn’t anything wrong with experimenting with different kinds of food for the animals. They are like us, they’ll either take it or leave it.
put half a dozen eggs out uncooked still in their shells that should get good footage of animals trying to open them
Got an idea… try steak, 90% of animals love red meat
