Some tips on how to eat hops. And why you would want to prune your hops in the spring beside the benefit of that you can eat the hops. Also trying an Altbier from Introvert brewing. Going through the All grain recipe for the beer if anyone wants to brew it at home.

Hey Dr. Hans, my problem in the Midwest is them plant suckers the green/ brown Stink bug's what we call them . They wilt a vine Very quick...but my flower or hop has all ready grown but the vine of course will not contribute anymore is it that big of deal , cause I hate to use soapy water on my hops...stuck in a circle lol.
Are these bines 1st year, 2nd year, older? You could avoid all the climbing with a bit of rope and constructing yourself a bine loom out of plastic pipe. Great content and music choices...CHEERS!

How are your other plants doing? produce cones? after the first negative temps at night my plants thought it was season end.

They are at different stages. I haven't had any negative temps here yet this year. But any day now. Last year I harvested the Hallertau Mittelfru after the first frost.
