I learnt basic Malayalam within 15 days from 4 Mallu girls when they shared our 8 bed big room when I was staying in hostel & looking for an IT job in Chennai.They came for a project work & stayed for a month.Then talking to them over phone within few months I almost learnt malayalam completely(Know to Speak only no script).We became very close and speak almost twice a week.They learnt Tamil from me and I learnt Malayalam from them.Nice experience and memories.I learnt a language because of their love and affection especially the way they spoke very kindly and their slang attracted me a lot..Love you all innocent & polite speaking Mallu girls in Kerala..Loved Joe movie for Malavika Manoj acting which reminded me their dress and hair styles & all good memories...Keep doing more lovely videos SKJ Talks💗

As a north person I too laughed on this line "they are working everywhere here & now in our homes too" On a serious note yes it can become difficult for parents to absorb the shock, for northern states too a southern state belonging man or woman might seem a bit of a cultural rollercoaster but at the end of the day what matters is a good human being. I may not be able to differentiate between Tamil, Malayalam & Telugu movies or songs but what matters the most is having respect towards them, seeing each one with respect, treating them with love. If you love a Tamil man or woman they would reciprocate with the same, they won't say we don't need to be loved. Respect & love crosses all barriers.

I have been recently watching your channel and I'm a foreigner in India. I love the videos and the messages behind it. I enjoy watching your videos and this video resonates with me, marrying my husband. We were countries apart! Although my Indian in-laws immediately accepted me with love and care. It all comes down to mutual respect for each other's culture, not always easy, but always be supportive of your partner no matter what background, culture etc. love, humanity and respect should above all. Have an open mind and open heart and be willing to learn. I have many different friends in India from different parts of India and absolutely love it that they all teach me how to cook their specialty foods! Embrace the differences, love and respect. of course, there will be challenges, but that's life, together you're stronger! Life is a learning process and I learn a lot from my husband and he learns a lot from me about each other's language and culture. My Hindi is not so good yet, but hopefully will be better soon. I'm blessed with my husband, blessed to have him in my life, even though we were countries apart, sometimes you really can't tell what the future will bring. Your videos certainly contain high value for society, and it also applies to many other cultures around the globe.

As a Malayalam knowing North Indian, I am very disappointed to see this episode of yours. Usually, your videos are kind of realistic but this one fails to be so. I strongly believe you made this video just to endorse DuoLingo and ignored the facts which your audience should realize or they will develop a misunderstanding about North Indians for sure. Let me point out them. First of all, Punjab is just a state of North India, like Kerala is of South India. So background music of Punjabi, Punjabi not needed at all, especially when the girl shows no proof of being a Punjabi. There are other states like Rajasthan, Gujrat, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and so on. Secondly, it is highly unlikely that a girl would not bother to learn a single word of her lover's language i.e., Malayalam that too while living in Kerala. Like South Indians, North Indians too do not accept their son or daughter marrying anybody just like that. Here there is no objection shown by girl's parents, that too when the girl was going to get married in two weeks. Anyway, North Indians are as traditional as South Indians tend to be. So it is unlikely that girls won't wear sari or churidhaar after marriage and would rather don short skirt. They would most probably like to appear like a new bride especially someone with a middle class upbringing. Sleeveless is usually not something that North Indian girl would choose to wear in a combined family, let alone suggesting an old mother in law to try it. Since you endorsed DuoLingo for learning Hindi, I must say, addressing husband as Thu is offensive, a wife would rather use Thum or Aap . Aap is equivalent to Thangal, more respectable than Ningal. Some Hindi dialogues are not correctly translated in English subtitles. "I will kill you" in Hindi is translated as I will teach you a hard lesson in English. Lastly, North Indians never eat parantha alone, they mostly eat it with pickle or curd. Here simply paratha was served which does not make a sense. I would advise if any Malayali guy has fallen in love with a North Indian girl as insensible as the one shown in this show, he should rather marry a Malayali penkutti chosen by his parents for a better future and a happy married life. One more thing, instead of so many people learning Hindi for the sake of one North Indian daughter in law, it is far better that a North Indian daughter in law learns Malayalam, alle? Because ഹിന്ദി നമ്മുടെ ദേശീയ ഭാഷയല്ല, ശെരി അല്ലെ ?
