As a Bengali who spent 16yrs in Bengaluru - this hit so close to home! I too had wrong perception when I landed way back when at KIA. But after 16yrs, I call the city my home. We may be languages and food apart but I have met some of the nicest people in the city. One of my very close kannadiga friend actually ended up marrying a Bengali girl and is now settled for last 5yrs in Kolkata. It's true when we say our beautiful country is a melting pot of organized chaos 😊

As a North Indian let me clarify you, we don't call it intentionally, we call it as it is swarn milap in Hindi. For example Rama as Ram, Krishna as Krishn, Kannada as kannad, Andhra as Andhr etc but not Kolkata as Kolkat, Agra as Agr or Vijaywada as Vijaywad.

Check google translate .. in all the languages like gujarati hindi marathi , they remove a at the end .. its not a insult but the translated version .. for eg english in russian is anhilsky , russian is ruski & ukrainian is ukrainsky .., the same way kannada in gujarati hindi marathi punjabi sindhi and all the aryan languages is Kannad ….

My great grandfather also used to refer the language over there as Kannad Thats how our gujarati and hindi dictionaries are ….. even my friends from banglore say gujrathi* instead of gujarati … its alright when people do not intent hate or insult … you people should come out of all that and india will become even more peaceful as a nation ….

Learning Hindi is not rocket science. As a south Indian, I will give first priority to my mother tongue because of my mother tongue. I will give second priority to English because of the job opportunities and career growth. That's why south Indians give last priority to hindi.

Not all South Indians but bhai andha Pradesh and Telangana people can ... The reason we have Hindi as a language subject from class 1 to 10 so yeah ham samaj saktai hai aur bath bi kar saktai hai not 100% like top but ok ...pata nahi Tamilnadu and Karnataka Mai ee language ka system hai ki nahi but e South North east west Kai hai ham sab tho Indians hai 😊...

Hi Bengali brother, this is South Indian brother from Madras (Chennai) 👋. My former college room mate was from Kolkatta. Despite having other Hindi speaking room mates, we both became best friends using only English to communicate. Also generally speaking I have met many Bengali people in my life and they are all very calm, sweet, friendly and inviting people. Virtual handshakes brother.

Arey the east and west of India don't have any issues amongst themselves. It's only the north and south the keep fighting. I have seen Bengalis being great friends with Punjabis as well as South Indians. I have seen Maharashtrians vibing with literally everyone ! In a world that keeps doing north V south, be like east and west of India !! 😅

For records -- Kannada language has its own script with 56 letters .. Which is not DEVANAGARI. Kannada literature is very rich and words used in our legendary Dr Rajkumar ( ANNAVARU ) movies are outstanding. in 1983 Ramakrishna hegde gave license to some 50 engineering colleges in Karnataka making educational hub for the entire India. Bengaluru is IAF Training HQ besides IT capital and ISRO HQ .. IISc , IIM are there in Bengaluru .. Infosys / Wipro / TCS / IBM / Accenture - all made Bengaluru as their base .

@@Deku-tk4yt facts change when new research comes out. I’ve heard Kannada and Tamil are both equally old. I’ve heard Kannada is older. Bruh I’ve heard Marathas brought Sambar to Tamil Nadu. Infact I find Kannada words similar to Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. But not similar Tamil and Telugu or Telugu and Malayalam words. Kannada also has an ancient version found to be as old as Tamil. I’ve had a North Indian completely deny Tamil is older than Sanskrit coz all the Shlokas chanted are in Sanskrit. And I told them not all of the shlokas are in Sanskrit but I actually was left confused after hearing what he had to say. I’ve seen research on Google saying both Kannada and Tamil are equally old. So I’ll do my own research
