You are so right about Rock Skis! I was soo ready to get on my new Volkl 104 Revolts for the pow & park, but waited until Jan 21st out here in CA-Tahoe skier. So glad I waited, was certainly worth it!

I don't know you but a boot dryer and baby powder goes a long way to prevent rot in our boots. I use this with every kind of boots, be it ski related or not. And a true wash once at the end of the season before storage.

I pull my liners every time i ski. Its surprising how much water volume ends up inside the shell.

I agree, back when I raced I had to ductape the toe gap on my boots just because so much water came in and would dry them out every night. At this point in the season maybe people can at least get them a bit dry from the time in the shed or where ever people store them. (I keep mine in my closet lol).

@@RicketySkiReviews I live in a small 4 1/2 appartment. Got a closet to store gear and have to switch it with every season. Its still rollerblading and hunting season. But skiing is due soon ! At first snow I'll be able to go grouse hunting in touring crosscountry skiing, those are really great days. Nobody in the woods, all alone with the snow and small games :)

Hitch mounted racks ensure your skis get nicely coated with road salt and sand. Super.good for your bases and bindings. They love salt. Or use a moving blanket to protect your interior and carry your sticks inside. Or have a roof rack.

Good point! Idaho doesn't really get much for salt and sand, so a simple wipe down with a shop rag has worked fine for me, but I grew up in VT and agree with you 100%

I had no tip on a board, sealed it a coupled times and blowing high speed pow it would delaminate, I eventually glued on a small circuit board, telling the tourist it was a GPS TOPO reader and I would download the terrain topo the night before so that why I was so fast!

I am planning on going skiing tomorrow 11-1-2023.. I have to keep telling myself this but my big reason is to get out of the city.. It is good for me to gradually loosen my body up.. Last season I did a lot of early season skiing and I am glad because late season I was in pretty good ski shape.. February is also Presidents Day Weekend and the ski hill is packed.. I did get my Enforcer 104 Free on February 28th and I didn't throw my back out the first time so it must have been mid to end of March when I was throwing out my back..

I still cry every time I hit a rock.. I am not too worried about hitting rocks on groomers but when it comes to both pairs of my Stocklis I do wait until conditions are good.. I do have to say that I did hit a lot of rocks early season last season.. They were all on ungroomed runs.. That reminds me that one of those runs in BRECK was supposed to be groomed and they didn't groom it until well into the season.. It might have even been March..

Since a couple years i prefere touring over skiing areas. But if I am doing a early season ski day (for me this means December - earliest or even January, also because there isn't much snow in the alps before that in the last couple years) i totally focus on getting some technique training in before getting back into the off-piste stuff.

On the bright side, Nordica builds a sturdy ski. You'll have these dogs weighing you down for a few seasons. I will note that Sportchuk Canada is currently selling the K2 Mindbender 99ti for $378 CDN . Thats $270 USD. No reason to be skiing old designs like the Enforcer.
