frfrpr Ms. Brian The Bootmaker does the filming. Yes, she does a great job filming and editing.
I love how you went the extra mile in making the boots beautiful as well as functional. The treatment on finishing the sole and heal base to make them look better than brand new. Taking something and bringing it back to new is great, but taking a boot and making it better than it was when it was new was really fabulous. I love watching a craftsman, not just a cobbler. You are young and possibly pretty new to the craft, but you have the desire to be a true craftsman. Loving it! PS I also loved the video you did where you introduced and talked to your boss, mentor, friend. Keep up the great work and never lose the idea that your profession is a craft and to be a true craftsman you need to continue to make your work product better than brand new.
Brian you have again hit it out of the Park..... explaining the stitch “plugs” as well as the reason for the sole nails..... you have learned so well, your teacher should be proud of you! I certainly am and we have not met yet! You really make me miss doing shoe and boot repair... Your Sole Brother in Colorado Bob. 🥾
Always a good time to assess your work, when your customer has taken it through its natural life and you can see what's working and what can be improved on. You are a true artisan, Brian. Props. ⚒️
Thanks for sharing about when to replace heel caps and resole. That customer must love wearing great looking boots, those still look very close to brand new.
So cool. Love to see someone working with their hands. You’re an artist!
Dude the effort needed to remove that cap is insane. It perfectly highlights how well the boot is made. Incredible.
AMAZING!!! The end result was so gratifying. Those boots look more stunning with time.
Wow they look fantastic afterwards. Nice work Brian. The new color together with the old patina is a nice combination.
Great video. Love the new way you guys shot the video. Gave it a different feel. Awesome work as always. Just received my first pair of RW8130’s. I kinda can’t wait to wear em in so I can send them to you for a resole lol. 🙏🏼
Wow , Brian you are a true artisan . I remember growing up in Chicago and across the alley from me was the back of a shoe/bootmaker shop . My father would take his shoes there to get repaired . The old Italian man would make them look beautiful . Not too many of those shops around anymore. People just throw their shoes or boots away and get new ones. Great video
True craftsmanship, loved watching this, thanks!
Thanks alot from Iraq.
Excellent video, Brian.
The hat and overalls is on the money. You got a sharp look going on. Your work and technique is excellent. Big thumbs up for you from this spectator
Beautiful work! You did a wonderful Video here; thank you for taken the time to teach us about boot heels! Gave you ⭐️ 🌟🌟🌟🌟.
I love watching your videos and how you transform those boots, Brian. Thumbs up from me👍👍👍👍👍
Brother, you are not an underdog, you are top shelf!!!!
Another nice work! Congratulations!
*really nice boots, good video bryan*
Excellent explanation, Brian. Tks.
Beautiful craft!!!
Skilled hands bro, wish you had a branch where I live, I got boots I need to repair. I love your work
Those horse RC under dogs look great. The white half soles and natural finish heels look great against the black leather. Beautiful boots.
I don't have any boots that need resoling at this time, but I'm looking for a pair of used/vintage boots so I can send them to you. Thanks for the videos Brian.
Great information & video, boots are beautiful
Nice good job Brian
They look like new! I really like those boots. I personally would prefer black sole & heel but I can totally appreciate them with the white. What you said about the heel height made sense. Thanks for sharing that information. I had been looking at it as an aesthetic consideration. I didn’t realize how that impacts posture and comfort. You are so knowledgeable. Maybe you might write a book sometime. That would be so kewl. 👍☮️🌞🥾
Beautiful boots Brian!
Nice , man! Beautiful work😁🖒 from Brazil!!
You do amazing work bro, you're a true craftman, I would love to have some custom made steel toe boots from you...
Great video with good information. Thanks!
Man those boots look sweet. Nice work Brian.

Perfection, I need a pair of your boots.

Looks great!
Love your work, love the music maybe more,
Great work 💯💯💯💯
this is awesome i love leather boots and people who are craftsmen and show there love for their craft. i just stumbled upon you videos while looking up how to properly break in and condition real leather boots and now im wondering what brand of boot you find to be the most durable and comfortable.
Colorado is watching, Brother!
Great job, with just new heel caps you made them look like new boots.
Love your work I was wondering how much for a pair of these boots thanks 😊
The boots looks great 👏👏👏👍🇬🇧
Amazing top of a line work quality over quantity
Hi, thx for the video. I really enjoy to watch them. When I saw you removing the sole, it seems that the guy did a good job last time 😉. I appreciate your videos. Enjoy your day. Best regards from Switzerland

A lovely video . Thank you sweet man . Yacov from Israel
Парень, ты молодец! Классно работаешь!!! Так держать!!!
I like your vídeos!!!! Congratulations!!!! 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷😘💗💗💗💗💗
Was all the Landis equipment (stitcher, finisher, sander), leather cutter/skiver, Singer sewing machine, Naumkeag and hand tools passed down to you? Seeing you use the tools and equipment brings back memories of my grandfather and father when they owned a shoe repair shop as well as myself from 1956 to 1964 before joining the Army. Keep up a dying trade and tradition.
Bravooo 👏👏👏

Parabéns pelo trabalho 👏👏🇧🇷👍
Awesome boots
very nice.

Curious, the safety glasses you've been using in your videos now are engineer spectacles? They look really old school. Nice work.
It’s Howdy doody time. Nice hat to keep the rain off indoors. Lol
Those are some good looking boots
must be amazing to hold something in your hands that you built and someone is putting them to work!!
Beautiful pair of boots What brand are those
I’m curious how you replace a half sole like this with all the stitching. It seems it would almost require a recraft with new midsole and possibly new welt. Is that correct? Maybe you already have this in another video so I’ll look for one. Thanks for your finely produced videos and for teaching us more about this beautiful craft. I love your boots 😊 and would also love to see boots made by your teacher and mentor. That would be awesome! Love you guys!!!

You are correct for a sole that is stitched all the way through. The point of the Goodyear welt is that it allows for the sole to be removed with the welt in tact. Unless you want to customize it, the welt is reusable and the same holes are used to attatch a new sole.
do you have tap rubber for replacing the soles on a pair of Corcoran jump boots?
Wear like that is why I always have a Blakey Number 9 set in each heel.
@brianthebootmaker do you have any videos of how to patch hole in heel if leather boots?
I'm thinking about trying to replace the rubber heel cap on my cowboy boots but the wooden part is worn down too, are they past the point of saving? My local shoe repair shop said it would cost more for them to fix it than for me to just buy a new pair but these boots have been through a lot with me and I'm really sad to just get rid of them
How about showing a resole of some steel cap boots? Would be interesting to know how it differs from resoling normal boots.
Reminds me of my days of being a carpenter... nothing worse than having to dismantle your own work (when you KNOW how well you built something). I hated to have to change my framing when a person changed their mind on which way they wanted to go. Fine lookin' boots, love the Underdogs.
whats the best way to re glue a broken heel? (the heel fell off as a whole)
When you put the nails into the heel cap, do you ever accidentally hit the nails that are in the leather heel portion or do you purposefully align the 1st set of nails between the heel cap nail holes?
@BrianTheBootmaker

Ed Yue I make sure they don’t align.
To hand craft a pair of boots for a person and have them come back for repair, to see that they are cared for that must be so rewarding.

Glenn Pettersson you got that right 👍
Why don’t you offer the Underdog on your site? I would link to order a pair.
What did you used for the edge finishing?
Gostaria de comprar uma bota desta.
I have logger boots with a solid vibram sole, how do you repair that??
What happens if you remove boots heels and change outsole to a Flat Sole?
Brian, how do I get a set of Tony lama Ostrich skin boots Resoled and heels repaired and new heel caps . Can I send them to you ?
You can't get that kind of attention to detail from an assembly line! Keep setting the bar, young Man!
Nice video👍 -Kuala Lumpur-
Wow! Those look great. What's the typical price range to re-heel a pair of boots? I have two pair of cowboy boots that need the heels, not the leather parts.
On on 2 years my heels but I rotate between two pairs of 👢 🥾 boots
Great video. My cowboy boot heels have to be replaced too.
Sweet I guess my nicks are toast! Wore down past the rubber on the sole and heel.
@Ddabig40mac

They're not toast. They just need a little more work than a basic resole.
Your RCM-42 cap toes are unbelievable beautiful
I been doing imaginary shoe replacements for about 3 years. As an expert I can say this man has great technique.
Did the owner wear these boots every day for 8 months? Like the car ads “your mileage may vary” is likely relevant as some walk on cement, gravel, grass etc. Rotating boots with a day rest with shoe trees is a good strategy. Great video.

thats exactly what i do - i have work shoes, house shoes, sneakers, dress shoes, hiking boots, combat boots, dress boots. my oldest pair of boots are 3 years old and havnt wore out the heel or sole at all. But i did go through a pair of Docs in 8 months😔 leather upper ripped in several places

Hey Brian I have a pair of redwing boots that have a good amount of tread left on them but they are cracking pretty heavily on the area where my toes crease. Would that be repairable?
@bushcraftinthegarden9525
4 жыл бұрын
I think thats a sign you dont moisturise the leather enough, i dont think its repareable but you can Put a little more life in them by using a leather condioner such as redwing mink oil.
How much u charge to replace a sole
Is there a reason (apart from tradition) why the toplifts on dress shoes are only a quarter-inch as opposed to half an inch on boots?
How much are those boots? Did nor find them on your website.
