My highschool crush is a heroine addict with 3 kids and living on welfare. I'd say I dodged a bullet. Edit: wow this really blew up. For those that are saying that I could have prevented this hindsight is 20/20. At the time unbeknownst to me or anybody else she was already an addict while she was in high school. She dropped out in junior year when she first got pregnant. The father of two of the kids who now is serving time for drug and burglary charges was the one that got her hooked on drugs in the first place. She made her choice and it's not my place to judge her for those choices.

I ran into my first crush I ever had when I was working retail. I saw her come in because I worked the front desk and I have a view of one of the entrances. I wasn't sure if it was really her or not but then she came to the front desk to ask where something was. I asked if *** was her name and she was shocked because she didn't recognize me even though we'd had several classes together while in public school but much of my classmates hadn't seen me in years. I used to basically dress like I was homeless but I had cleaned up a lot since then and don't look much like how I used to. I don't think I had ever spoken to her before, I was a super awkward guy in school and she was basically one of the good Christian girls(legit this was basically a clique in the school, these girls stood out this way) who were top of the class regularly. She was actually super nice to me and asked me how I had been, I didn't expect her to give me the time of day. I let her know I was going to college soon because I had a much later start on it than many of my school mates. She's now married to some nerdy looking guy which is a huge surprise but she looks really happy and I'm happy for her. I'm glad I was at least able to see that she was a genuinely kind person.

The Girl I had a crush on in High School was my HS girlfriend's best friend. She was super sweet and very pretty. There was nothing wrong with my girlfriend at the time I was just daydreaming for this other girl. I meet her 10 years after High School and we're both single. Mutual crushes were admitted, she showed me her new nipple piercing and I ended up getting her pregnant in an empty Golden Corral parking lot around 3 in the morning. Still together five years after that and "Going to Golden Corral" Has become our standard euphemism when we don't want our children to know we're talking about sex. I was friends with this guy about 6 years ago and had a huge crush on him but never had the balls to say anything because I thought he was out of my league and would never be interested, and at the time the age difference made things difficult too, so eventually our conversations got gradually shorter and we grew apart. Then one night I was eating Chinese food with my family and opened my fortune cookie. It said "you will find much fulfillment with someone special very soon", I sent a picture to my best friend for a laugh. Almost an hour later, he messaged me out of the blue after not talking for 4 years, we chatted back and forth for a bit and caught each other up, and met up to hang out a few days later. After a couple months of hanging out he told me that he had a crush on me too way back when we were friends but was also too scared to say anything. After a few months of dating I remembered about the fortune cookie, and my mind was blown when I realized it had only been less than hour in between opening it and him messaging me. Unfortunately I threw it out at the time but I was able to find the picture looking back through my messages with my friend to show him. We've been together for 2 years now 😊

Some people just age bad. I'm learning this at 30. I look better now than i ever have and all the hott people i went to school with and hung out with when i was like 19-20 are fat and unattractive now. It's a bit of a mind-fuck seeing people who were so intimidatingly attractive now turning 28/29/30 and you're not attracted to them at all and they hardly even look like the people they were less than a decade ago.

I was awkward in high school and got made fun of pretty bad for my crooked teeth by a popular boy. Fast forward 15 years and I see him in a bar. I have straight teeth now and feel like I'm looking good. He hits on me and I politely turn him down. I don't think he remembers how mean he was.

I met my crush from the countryside when I was in elementary again last year and we haven't met for 5 years. I heard from my relatives that she is still single after we met last year. My aunt jokingly told her that I had a crush on her when we were young (well till this day though, first of all she's hot af, hardworking and is a doctor in a local hospital), and I just laughed it off to make things not awkward. After that day, she never got out of my mind, so I found her facebook and messaged her. This is a very long story with several plot twists. I went to junior high school, it was hell for me because all the group knew each other since kindergarden. Some boys bullied me so much I was constantly feeling life was shit. Girls were mean too, calling me names and disappearing my notebooks. Anyways, a boy, whom all the girls had a crush on, used to call me in the afternoons to do stupid (non agressive) jokes and teased me a lot, kind of a prankster. I had a crush on his best friend but sadly one day the prankster told me that my crush had a crush on another girl. I was really sad specially because I was not good looking, acne, weird misaligned lower jaw, minon body, etc. I knew I didn't have a chance to have a boyfriend. Politness or inteligence meant nothing for schoolboys. During high school I had another crush (crush #2). With very low selfesteem I suffered a lot, because although I was my crush's best friend, he was always sleeping with the "pretty girl of the week" and also he was ALWAYS taking about physical appearance. After high school I had lower jaw surgery, exercised a lor and according to most people I was good looking. No matter how much I had changed I still felt really ugly and wondered if there was ever going to be someone who would not give a damn about appearence. One day, when I was 18, I received a facebook message from the prankster. We chatted, after a couple of months he started calling me everyday (landline phone because I had no cellphone). I was a bit nervous of meeting him again because I was worried about him expecting me to look "different", he only knew how I was supposed to look based on some high school photos that some of my friends had posted. One day before even meeting in person, he told me he had fallen madly in love with me. Turns out he had always had a crush on me, since the very first day of junior high school but was too childish to manage things correctly. Somehow he had always thought of me as someone very attractive. At school he had noticed I had a crush on his friend, his friend also had a crush on me, but was too shy to tell me. Noticing that, the prankster (Jim) lied to me about my crush having another crush. Also, my crush knew that Jim liked me, so he told me that Jim was always teasing me because I was an easy target, not because he liked me. I was not sure if something could eventually happen. He was in law school, but where we live, a future lawyer is dooming his moral code out of money. I was the "boring vegetarian" who did not even had a cellphone When I was 19 suddenly he tells me he is becoming a vegetarian, that he is quitting law school to study finances. I was shocked, he told me that although he didn't have the courage to tell me what he felt before, he was sure by that moment that he wanted to be with me, marry (if I wished) and do whatever he could to make me happy. We met in person, a bit awkward but he was a real gentleman, witty, funny, really tall and handsome somehow he was not surprised at all at how I looked. We have been together for 6 years now. He is a very supportive loving man, the kind of person that can be very playful and affectionate but also very calm and responsible. I love him more than anything. Fun fact: my second crush was in love with me. My parents and brother explained that five years ago, during a small reunion I was being silly with Jim, dancing kissing and holding hands and that none of us noticed my crush's heartbroken expression. It might have been weird for him, I used to be cold, pessimistic and sarcastic most of the time.

And now my family cannot believe how cheesy we are towards each other, haha. I think the most beautiful part of finding someone who truly loves you is that you feel secure enough to throw away all the wrong ideas society has poured inside our heads of how we should "play" in a relationship (don't answer too quickly/ show him you have other options/keep some mystery about your life/ you should have the upper hand,etc) Six years in this relationship and I have learned to truly love life.

Had a crush on her my freshman and sophomore years. Junior year I finally had the courage to ask her to Homecoming. It was great. In college we went our separate ways but I never lost that crush on her. Later she came within a week of getting married with her new crush. She called it off at the last minute. When I heard, I thought for about 10 seconds I might get a second chance. Realizing how stupid that was, I put her out of my mind. 3 years later when we were both out of college and back home at Christmas to visit our parents, I get a call from her asking if I’d like to go to Midnight Mass. Surprised, I agreed. When I saw her I realized I still had a huge crush on her. 2 years later we were married. It’s been 42 years now. I have been really lucky. Unfortunately, her doctors give her 4 to 6 months. It’s been a great ride, I’m going to miss her so much.

It was a carnival at my old Elementary School. I was 14 and in the 8th grade. She recognized me and we began talking. From my experience, when I met my old crush. We changed a lot. Haven’t seen her since junior year but I graduated in 2018, so it’s been 4 years now since we met. However, when we met again... I didn’t know who she was. I wasn’t being fake but I didn’t know her at all! I’m active and I hate staying home. I was actually the biggest Asian guy in my school bc where I live, there’s not much people so our school was small. Ive put up more mass after 1-2 years of working out so my figure changed a bit and she had to bring back stuff then it hit me. On the other hand, I didn’t even care for her no more. It was good seeing her but I don’t have the same feeling as I used to have for her. We talked and had Dunkin’ Donuts together then we hug and said our goodbyes. We we’re “friends” but she didn’t like me back ;-; lol So in 6th grade she moved to another country, was kinda upset but got over it. Fast forward to February 2020, I’m a 19 year old man who just graduated and now has a job. But then Coincidentally, she comes to the exact Restaurant I work in, at the exact day and hour I work in. She was like “Omg I know you!” And we talked for a bit. In the end she gave me a hug, she was really nice and still very pretty. Glad I was able to see her one more time tho.

When my crush (a year older than me) graduated high school, I initially thought he might have moved far away because I didn't see nor hear of him. I managed to find him through social media by my 2nd year of college. He remembered me when I messaged him. Eventually I discovered that he works at barbershop in one of the neighboring communities. I managed to see him by bringing one of my boy cousins to get a haircut. I'm just happy that he recognized me.😊

Got back together with an old university gf 10+ years later. Went great, moved in together, even got engaged. Then she suddenly felt that she had carte blanche justification to no longer even try and control her anger management, paranoid control issues, alcohol consumption, maintain even an entry level job or refrain from physical assault. 6 months later, after I'd had to cancelled the wedding, she'd had several interviews with the police regarding her mental health, assault against me and alcohol counciling, eventually she was held for psych evaluation for 60 days due to uncontrollable alcohol fuelled aggression to anyone and everyone. I've since moved And changed jobs because I don't think a police warning will do, especially when she's drinking. Don't stick your dick in crazy, okay guys?

I was once walking down a church once with my wife and a huge wedding was taking place and my wife decided to stop and watch…and it was my high school crush who was tying the knot. After I saw the groom I instantly thought that I should have talked to her when I was in high school…I was not as ugly as her now husband was!! 😂😂😂

I met her when I was a sophomore in HS, she was a junior. She was also in a relationship with another woman. But damn was she cute, and funny. She'd let me yammer on for hours about things she had no idea what I was talking about or already knew, which i dunno i like talking so it was a plus. At the end of her senior year i told her I had liked her despite her still being with the other girl and probably getting married. I didn't want her to feel bad, I just wanted her to know I'd be around if something went wrong.(It ended up being a bit awkward as she didn't actually graduate that year and I still saw her around my senior year too.) 3 years of loneliness later as I tried to get myself together after i graduated, I wondered how she had been and realized I hadn't actually talked to her in years. I don't stalk people on facebook or really use it other then to use messenger but I messaged her to ask how she'd been. Apparently she and her girlfriend had broken up. they fought all the time and never got married. I took her out to eat to catch up and talk it out. The first thing I had slipped on saying was "God damn you are gorgeous." Anyway, our 3rd year is coming up next month. Once I get my money together I'll get her a ring too. I want to propose in front of the castle at disney world."

Half a year ago I started dating a girl, when we first started talking it was a bit awkward then she came to my house and stuff just happened naturally. 6 years ago, we were very good friends at the time, but I was devastated to find out(through a facebook status update, no less)Junior year of high school that my crush(who I danced with at homecoming and prom, sang a duet in a talent show with, and got her a book by her favorite author for her birthday)was a lesbian. I was inconsolable for a month, but I got over it soon after. Ran into her a few months ago at a bar. I think I remember her saying she might be getting married to her gf soon(which I am happy for). We are still very good friends today, and keep in contact regularly.

Not really the same situation, but I told my female friend that I once had a crush on her and gave up eventually since she had a boyfriend (still does). It was awkward, but she was cool with it. She even motivated me that I could find someone.

Some of these are just freaking wholesome.

Used to date, well "date" (as much as you can in elementary school) her in 4th grade back in 2008. Kids spread rumors that some other dude in the classroom was flirting with her, and that they were talking so I did the only thing that child me thought of and broke up with her during lunchtime later that day. Eventually she moved down to the southern part of the state we live in, and she slipped out of my mind. Fast forward to 2017 and sometime during February I had a random dream that she was in. No idea why, because I literally hadn't thought of her once since 4th grade. Anyways, fast forward about a day or two and I look her up on Facebook and add her (we used to be friends back before she moved so I figured she might've still been on there), and to my surprise she accepted. I remember thinking she was cute back then, but I can remember thinking to myself, "Holy shit is that the same girl?" when I saw her profile picture. Messaged her a while, and things were going well, just catching up and talking about life...that kind of stuff. Then we get to the topic of music and she mentions how she plays a flute, and I bring up how I was learning to play the ocarina at the time. I didn't know how to read sheet music at the time, so I figured I'd ask if she could explain it to me since she must know how to. Wanna preface this by saying that I was really just expecting some kind of typed out instruction to be sent via Messenger, or something of the sort, but after that day I never heard from her again. Not a single syllable. Can't imagine why she felt the need to ghost me, but I can only assume she thought I was asking to meet up or something, when that wasn't even my intention from the start, lol. Just looked at her profile again, and she's even better looking than she was before, but oh well - plenty o' fish in the sea. -Edit- I moved on to learning to play the piano after that, and it's more enjoyable to me.

I'm in a happy relationship, we'll have been together 6 years. I had a crush on only one person all the way from 1st grade, and we were also in the same grade. I was always going through issues due to a childhood trauma so I never really talked to him much because I was shy. He was part of the more popular crowd of kids. And I was a bit of an outcast with my grade because of my issues, didnt make the best choices at times and I was in an emotionally and mentally abusive relationship with my grandma. Since I've graduated highschool, I've changed a whole lot and things are better with my grandma than they have been. I met a wonderful guy during my senior year and we've been dating and we plan on getting married. And I've never been happier. He's helped me through a lot and we don't fight. He's very sassy, plays guitar beautifully, and I love his dark humor. I think when my highschool reunion comes in 2025 and if the one I liked is there, I think I'll tell him I had a big crush on him. I've had friends that talked to their crushes and I feel like its a good thing to get off your chest, or life a milestone of sorts. Something to bury with the things left to the past.

Don't be afraid to tell someone you like them, you might never get the chance to tell them ever again.
