Yeah to hell with this sponsorshit. It's a lot more important that you stop speaking nonsense about how Russia started this so-called "insanity". This "insanity" thing was started long ago by american companies fighting for natural resources that was discovered in Donbass and Crimean region. Ukrainian oligarhs affiliated with this companies acquired personal army feeded with questionable ideology and forcefully changed regime in Ukraine starting civil war.

Exactly, it’s the latter. As a Russian I confirm, everybody in the elites secretly hates the latest policies, especially the war. This war and the sanctions lead to loosing their foreign assets. There were several leaks of private talks of one famous Russian musical producer and the oligarch, describing Putin as Satan, dragging everyone to hell. Putin’s press-secretary Peskov is against the war according to his mate, businessman Oleg Tinkov and also heavily hinting at how much he dislikes the situation. Unfortunately, those around Putin are too afraid to go public. But Russia will be free one day! We are normal people with unfortunately oppressive government

wake up Everyone who does not agree with Putin has already left abroad. He has maximum support among the population, and the closest people are the most loyal among them. Look at those who lead their army. One was a cook, the other a stoker and had nothing to do with the army. He puts in these positions only those whom he trusts and who are ready to take one of these places next to him. Do not perceive them as liberal people who were in their place and whom Putin took by surprise. All of them were appointed by him to serve before him. For almost 30 years, there are no people left in Russia who are against Putin collectively. The whole country is a collective Putin. And people began to leave en masse only when there was a risk that they would be taken to serve in the army, not earlier. And now they go abroad and continue to support the Russian invasion of Ukraine, whether in Germany, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Georgia, etc. They simply do not want to risk their lives themselves, but the ideology of their superiority over other nations is supported by every Russian (at least 99.9% of them)

I loved all your videos but had real struggle watching this until the end. I get that you use sources when you're making videos, but if you do a kind of video like this you should use a lot of sources from all sides (west, east and neutral). Let me just touch a few topics you mentioned: 1. Russian ''imperial'' desires: what are you talking about? :D If any country has imperial desires it is the US. Waging wars constantly since WWII, overthrowing goverments around the world, fighting for ''democracy'', sure. All Russia wants is to not be like the EU countries (under US paw, doing its bidding) 2. Democracy in Russia. Ok this is a doozy since there is no real democracy since Greek city-states (even there it wasn't really since slaves and young people didn't have a right to vote), but lets do it. Russia has elections regularly and Putin and his party win, GG. You could say it's rigged, but someone can say it's rigged in the US, in France, anywhere really, who's to know? Just to take US for example again, you have 2 real parties and what they call deep state that can push their people real easy. Nowhere is great for us little people nowdays it seems, unfortunately. 3. World has been unipolar for so long now and it's really bad for everyone except US and not so bad for EU and idk Canada, Australia, Japan probably. Rest of the world does not want to be 2nd, 3rd world countries, can you blame them? BRICS is the new economic giant that is waking up slowly renouncing dollar, China being provoked for so long with Taiwan, Russia being provoked by nato expanding right to it's borders, stuff like that.... (there's a video idea about the dollar dominance and US manipulating it). Just imagine what would happen if suddenly Mexico started to discuss the possibility of entering military alliance with either Russia or China, began militarizing and considering having even a couple nuclear weapons for either China or Russia? I'm sure it would be run over :) Anyway, love all your videos except this one, not because I'm biased, but because it's easily seen here that all your sources for the video are from one side and heavily biased.

At the moment the probabilities of these scenarios look like this: 1) Democratization - ~0% probability. Absolutely impossible as Russia never had any healthy democratic society in the first place. It was always governed by a different kind of "supreme leaders'', regardless of how they were called: Tsar, General Secretary of USSR or President - in reality it was always some form of dictatorship with fake imitations of democracy from time to time (even in USSR there were formal "democratic" elections, but there was only 1 name available to choose from - not much has changed since then). State of democratic society in Russia is best described by the term "learned helplessness": for generations common people were taught to believe in a miracle of a "strong supreme leader", but not to get involved in politics themselves. 2) Normalization - 70% probability. This is the most likely scenario because one of the strongest demands in Russian society is to feel "strong and proud" and for this Russia must be victorious. Russians strongly dislike the idea of potentially losing the Ruso-Ukrainian war, but they have little to none objections for the war itself as long as they are winning - and that is what creates demand in this scenario in Russian society. Regardless whether it will be Putin, or his successor, or someone else who will take control by force in a result of a successful coup - result will be the same: either Puting will go for escalation(mass mobilization, usage of nuclear weapon etc.) or he will be eventually replaced with someone stronger and more determined to win this war. 4) Chaos - ~20% probability and this scenario is only possible us an outcome of failed scenario 3. Escalation, i.e. it will start as Escalation, but will fall into Chaos for whatever reason... In a short term the only thing that can lead to this scenario is a prolonged coup like Prihozyn's one which will neither success nor fail in a few months time. In a long term slow but inevitable degradation of Russia's economy could lead to increased tension between different national groups. To sum it up: General population for the next few years will support whoever will promise them victory and glory which makes 3) the most likely scenario in the short term (2-5 years), but it is unlikely that this scenario will put an end to war. In this short term period escalation will reach its peak and after further escalation will not be a viable solution because of high resources demand on prolonged war so eventual lack of resources will force natural de-escalation for both sides which could potentially lead to a frozen conflict like the one between North and South Korea. In a long term of 10-20+ years after natural de-escalation and/or frozen conflict Russia will eventually come to a new point in history where it will be able to choose between scenarios 2., 3. and 4., but scenario 1) will remain absolutely impossible until either 2. or 4. scenario will become a reality eventually.

My money is on Scenario 4. The one thing Putin's inner circle members hate more than the West is each other. 1) An agreed-upon successor cannot be an "outsider" (see: Yevgeny (Eugene) Prigozhin). He is not an oligarch who came up together with the likes of Abramovich or Khodorkovsky, he is not a ranking officer in the security apparatus, he didn't receive good-enough education (majority of oligarchs held PhDs before those were up for sale), nor he is a recognized "thief in law" (godfather); basically, Prigozhin hasn't "earned" his stripes yet as far as the rest of Putin's inner circle is concerned, and his disrespectful attitude towards peers is causing much annoyance. 2) An agreed-upon successor cannot be a non-Russian (see: Ramzan Kadyrov). Russia is pragmatically xenophobic - it will tolerate an ethnic minority as long as it "knows its place". The fact that Kadyrov is allowed to boldly voice his opinions is simply due to Putin's ongoing patronage, otherwise he holds minimal respect both at home and within Russian elite. The memory of Kadyrov the Elder is duly respected, however the son (Ramzan) is seen as an upstart spoiled brat. Most likely he will be sold out to opposing powerful Chechen clans looking to see Ichkeria as an independent nation after Putin is no longer around to protect him. 3) Age will play an important role. Putin, Shoigu, and Patrushev are either turning 70 or older, meanwhile Dimitri Medvedev and Mikhail (Michael) Mishustin are 57 and 56, respectively. Youth and virility are important assets in building a personal image. Dimitri Medvedev's current job is best summarized as spouting "fire and brimstone" rhetoric on social media; that is acceptable in of itself but is not suitable to an image of a stoic Stalineque leader, cold and brutal as Siberian taiga. In contrast, Mikhail Mishustin is the calmer, quieter brainy guy who is (once again) a pragmatist but who seemingly has not done much to have a big enough public image. 4) Be it either a fall of Crimea or Putin's health giving out, the main three forces most likely to make the next move towards consolidating power will be: I) A junta-like group of generals / military-led mutiny. See 1991 August Putsch (but a successful attempt by Communist hardliners this time around) for more perspective. II) Nicholai Patrushev using FSB and other internal security organizations. See 1953 Lavrentiy Beria's downfall made possible by Georgy Zhukov for more perspective. III) Yevgeny Prigozhin using Wagner Group in an attempted coup. See Russia's 1993 Crisis (but with Boris Yeltsin's forces losing this time around) for more perspective. 5) After much in-fighting, a military junta outlasts others and takes power with Mishustin or some other moderate as their face and mouthpiece. Immediate goals will be lifting sanctions (concessions would be considered), securing personal immunities (hello The Hague, we were just following orders, but here are the real villains you can make yourself look good persecuting), and re-distributing industry assets among loyal oligarchs to achieve internal stability. Life for ordinary Russians will continue to remain difficult as economy struggles for several more years. 6) Disintegration of Russia can occur, but partially and mostly in Caucasus region. Aforementioned Ichkeria and Dagestan will be the first to break away, with Tatarstan being the next possible candidate, however the West will step in to prevent China from obtaining an even greater foothold and influence over Russia's Far East and its significant natural resources.

Doesn’t matter about the suffering and morality of the war itself or that me and you feel like the war is wrong!!

Hello! I am from Russia, and to speed up the writing of the message, I translated through Google. I just came across your channel and I want to say that it is very interesting, thanks for your content. And immediately so that not the most good people (despite the fact that I understand them in part) do not insult me, I am against the war, I have friends from Ukraine, and this whole situation saddens me, although it saddens me even more that I, and many others people like me (and there are a lot more of us than it seems) are suffering because of a stupid state, because everyone decided that we are responsible for the dictatorship, and when we ask what we did, we are told that we did not go under bullets and arrests to overthrow the government. We're scared. We are all scared. Even those bastards who are at the head of everything. Those who support the regime are usually already old, 45-80 years old (although few live to 80). There is an incredible level of corruption in the country, so much so that it speaks of an honest life in at least some area, adjusted for the desire to be successful, is not necessary. All business and power is in the hands of former criminals or security officials and the regime is appropriate. Those who support the authorities are afraid of the new 90s, when there was so much crime that it was dangerous to just go out into the streets, everywhere ... so they maintain "stability". Therefore, the country is like this, and the people in it. Sorry for such a long disclaimer, consider it an addition to the video about the situation in the country. Option 1 is practically impossible, not so much because of the lack of support, but because power is held and transferred by force, and the entire government is in collusion, so without the support of the army or just a very large-scale uprising, this is unlikely to happen. Option 2 is the most logical, especially considering that Putin did this twice - with Yeltsin, and later with his "accomplice" Medvedev, when he was given power for one term. Option 3 is unlikely to happen, although I would say that it is also possible due to madness and paranoia within the government. No kidding, they're all psychos. By percentage, option 1 is a maximum of 10, the second is 60, the third is 30. Option 4... I don't really want to think about it. But if this happens, I doubt that anything will change. Thanks for the video and reading the comment, I hope it was interesting

I don't see the only acceptable scenario: full restructuring of the Gulag-state into national republics, so it's a federation no more. Russians need to undrego what germans did after WW2. Mass reeducation and lustration. Then a new generation may have some hope (depend on efficiency of the process). The current one is a lost cause for the humanity.

The only reason Germany or even any former axis powers did "well" after WW2 was because of direct American stimulation. It was a basically we get rich by you getting rich scheme. That shit ain't gonna work in the modern economic environment.

You should give some reasons... here's my example, I liked trump for his 22% business tax rate " now in the 30s% " I liked how much cheaper fuel was, I felt as if my freedom of speech wasn't being taken away... that's a big one for me, if I can't disagree with my government without being hushed then you aren't truly free... now I ask do you not want a democracy? I do understand the benefits of a full time leader especially during economic downfalls and war but after a time I feel you can really tell a away it's going, do you see putin making Russian better? I don't see biden making anything better and can't believe I still have two more years left of him... I apologize if I sound rude but I'd really like to hear your point of view on theses questions

@OlgaLuchnikova are you scared to call this a war? People in Russia have been imprisoned calling it a war and not a special operations... you claim it's to stop the " nazi " but that's a default to say Russian phobia and the only real phobia is what the Russians have against the American people... what if we started a special operations to stop American phobia? Would you be against that? If so then you're a hypocrite... now we can have a reasonable conversation if you'd be open minded enough but I highly doubt you can say putin has done any good besides restoring crimeas water supply by blowing up that dam... give me one other reason why putin is " great " really I'm open minded enough to switch side... but you gotta convince me
