Dude that was a great bit! I deal with this at my local track and our RD recently made it loud and clear that if it’s seen done at all, you get a lap docked the first time, taken out of the race the 2nd time, and if your persist and cut a third time you can’t race for a month!!...it was getting really bad. But I think everyone can admit though, that they have crashed and landed on the wrong side of the track, waited a bit, then took off....I think you are onto something with the 10 second pit stop once you come around that first lap.

I complete with completely agree with you brother. Luckily here at Historic Phil Hurd Raceway, most of our announcers are eagle 🦅 👀 eyed people. And those most people and cars by name and can call it out and tell somebody to do this or do that. And to say keeping everything fair and competition clean. Also your tuning video is light years ahead of everyone else thank you.

I’d just like to add, that in that first race. There are several top tier pros, and then some extremely fast, local racers in the 6-10 positions ,Ethan lefabvre,Spencer Heckert, and a couple others. I feel that the top pros feel even more pressure in this situation with fast local guys in they’re same main. Like the need to finish top 3 is so high, so they are not embarrassed,by an otherwise local, but still extremely fast guy. They don’t want to show that they are human, and not much faster than some guys local to big tracks like thornhill. Or even mikes! Where Brandon Rose is from.

You are absolutely right, that's the organizers responsibility. The drivers responsibility to reenter the track as safe as possible from where they had the incident. Corner workers or any spectator should report this. It happens all the time in GNCC and desert racing. That's why at the finish of these races they say unofficial results in there broadcast.

the problem with big races in the US is two fold. First, there is a race announcer, but no director. So nobody is calling traffic. Secondly, at these big races, the announcer doesn't give two shits about all of the average joe's that pay their entry fees, they only care about the pros.

This is a clear cut case where a sort of parental role is being neglected by the race organizers. If the drivers suffer no consequences for their unethical and blatant cheating, why should they change their behavior? This seems like a really easy fix. Either a 10s pitstop as you suggest or just simply do not count laps where the entire track wasn't followed. When you think you've won but come to discover that you completed a lap less than your competitors, I reckon that you would see the practice die off almost instantaneously.

I absolutely agree, I remember these people would come in from quite a ways away for the indoor races and if I got swear I was laughing them, it would purposely land on my car and break all kinds of stuff because they're in dead last and they were going to finish dead-last but it would cost me at least a hundred bucks in parts because they broke my shocks apart and so on, or just blatant coming of the track, but generally Karma kicked in at some point but I agree when I watch these Pro races online and in-person, it's either really good racing or a bunch of BS. I seen guys run 40% Nitro instead of 30% and things like that but they don't really know how to tune an engine in the first place so I never experienced it mattering all that much, but somebody knew what they were doing, obviously it would matter significantly. So was someone being a Pro Driver for being at a championship, you are right that it comes down to the race organizers and so on. Do you think they are worried if they say something that they won't run the race there anymore? Just like another motorsports when racers decide to boycott, etc..? Great video!

As a former RD, it's hard to police the 1st incident with so much carnage at the start on a local level. I have seen similar situations at big club races and been guilty of letting it go because people come from out of state that I am not familiar with, so it's hard to call them out...the only viable option is to do a full restart, but with races already behind schedule it's hard to pull the trigger on a full restart. But in a pro race where you know the paint jobs and drivers, it should be easy to call out drivers for a stop and go. I think it's the RD afraid to piss off the big names, and lets it go. It's easier to pretend you didn't see what happened lol. And as a driver I have lost a race (that was big to me) where the guy in 2nd crashed and skipped, making up about 7 seconds on me (and my OG JQ eCar), the race was almost over and I still had a few seconds lead, but I saw his cheat and got flustered that he was getting away with it and lost focus, and thus lost the race. I'm sure I've pulled similar moves before, but I always tried to be respectful and wait longer than I should. Good vid!

I've had this same thing cost me a race. I almost quit rc that day because the race director let it go. Something else that's BS in rc racing is the fact that they charge these insane entry fees ($75) and then have zero purse. And on top of that they make you turn marshal. If there charging that much and not paying any purse they can hire a crew to turn marshal. This is why I don't waste my money racing rc.

I'm new, and not very good, but the first time I went, I was sitting in 2nd in the A Main (lots of regulars were missing that night) of 2WD Buggy until someone landed on top of me and killed my ESC with a minute left. So this time, the RD says "I'm gonna put you in Novice Buggy." I was like "weird, but ok." After qualifying, I'm 4 laps up on everyone in Novice Buggy. One of the guys says to me "Hey, you're sandbagging it!" I was like "he put me there!" I had him move me to the back of the B Main in 2WD Buggy, and I drove to a win.

I never raced on a track before so wasn't even expecting people to be doing this kind of thing when all eyes are on track and being filmed. Clearly there's a need to keep the drivers honest, my suggestion is the following: given that every car has a device to check their laps and lap times why not use checkpoints across the track, if the car did not pass those checkpoints then penalties should be in place. Maybe it's easier to talk than implementing it but I think it's doable, if checkpoints are missing in the middle of the track then penalties should be given. Also, if these people are being paid/sponsored by brands, I'm pretty sure whoever pays them will be looking at cutting them off contract for cheating, hopefully their contract mentions something about cheating or something... I don't know.

if you want to stop this kind of stuff you need more than one announcer. Actually the announcer shouldn't be responsible at all, he should only be there to call / comment on the race for the spectators. As in other sports you need referees on the drivers stand and not just one but three or four for the mains. It's simply impossible for one announcer who is trying to call the race for the spectators make decisions on wrong doings of drivers.

Last race I competed in was about 2 years ago. I had been away from competition for a while. I was in the transfer spot out of the B-Main and one of the guys behind me crashed himself over a pipe, crossed an infield space and deliberately drove over another pipe putting him out in front of me. He finished the race 30 seconds later in my spot. My last lap trying to catch him was actually the 2nd fastest of the night in the class, besides his cheat lap which was 6 seconds faster! Dude actually made a joke about cheating sometimes to qualify for the A-Main right on the stand as we were walking off! After marshalling I went to the race organizer and showed him the lap times and the clear cheat and he still blew me off. I asked why they didn't update the current layout's lap record then since the guy beat it by over 5 seconds and he just ignored me. Total homer's club over there. It is the only track nearby so I just stopped racing.

@@invisiblespeedrc I guess that’s the main advantage of RC racing. There’s no consequence. Your life isn’t at risk. On a side note how many carbs did you cut up for the tuning video. I counted more than one. That was awesome. Sacrificing good carbs to educate. I watched the entire 1hr20min in one sitting. Bravo!

The problem is the race referrees should be more than 1 person. Should be 3 at least. No referree can see all cars at one time its that simple.

That last track has a fault called a "shortcut"... lame track design. Any cheating should be able to be "video challenged" after the race for a full DQ.
