He really brushed off a lot of speed/forward momentum just before the drop with that last short quick turn to the right. No way did he know what was coming off that lip. Wrong. He knew exactly the line he was going for. You can see the intention as soon as he lands the first small drop, otherwise he would of just continued to the line directly in front of him. Also in interviews he states it intentional and planned out.
Good fall though, managed to stay right of the second feature into the bowl

I don't think so, judging by how his arms are "rolling up the windows" when he goes over the ledge and how he lands he didn't mean to drop there. Also he has so much open terrain to drop into that isn't that tracked out, I doubt he's intentionally dropping into a couloir. He probably did scout his intended line, which looks like it was meant to be the next ledge down which would explain him turning so hard to the right before dropping or at the very least straight off the ledge he went instead of turning right. Even if you scout it out well from higher up or below, when you're there it's really hard to tell landmarks from another.

snow acts like a one time use foam mat, plus a lot of that downward energy can be converted forward once they hit the slope.
@skyluke9476
9 ай бұрын
As others have said. Pow is like 99% air. It’s basically like a 2 foot thick airbag they use in stunt films only it’s also on a hill which converts momentum. It can also be full of ice tho because predicting nature isn’t an exact science and that’s when your knee caps start feeling it the next day. Fun fact, ski clothes are actually designed poofy not for warmth but for padding allowing air to be trapped within it so when you land it acts similarly to the snow giving you even more of a cushion.
