The guy had much worse punishments for literally being a good person than the accuser themself. What? Cut out of the will. James lost all of his jobs, his mother could never date again, and James had his nose and eyelid broken.

@@alfredosanchez76the stepfather doesn’t have a record, however when applying for teaching positions he couldn’t reference a lecturing position that he’d been at for years, essentially creating either a gap in his resume he’d have to explain, or he’d basically have to say his former employer won’t give him a reference, both of which are giant red flags in teaching, so despite the fact there’s nothing wrong with him, he won’t get employed simply because they’ll assume the worst It’s not blacklisting like calling around and flagging him on a system, this is a much more malicious thing to do to someone as it won’t just affect teaching, it’ll effect most high level positions he might apply for anywhere

I get the thinking of “they’re seen as they didn’t do this in the eye of the law but I still think they did” but it ruins lives. Brian Banks. His 14 year old girlfriend made up an accusation, got him sent to jail, got a million-odd settlement from the school. And you know the really enraging part? When he got out of jail, she tried to be friends with him. Unfortunately for her, he got a PI, recorded her confession, got his name cleared, and now she's on the hook for paying back the settlement money she already spent. Probably for the rest of her sorry life. (Also, her mom was probably the mastermind.) He was later hired by the NFL's dept of operations.

If this was my son, he'd be up for adoption immediately. Because clearly, such a lie is an indicator that I have failed as a parent/educator completely and utterly. This 14 year old clearly planned and orchestrated his smear campaign in order to get rid of such a kind man. Knowing full well that the success of his plan would land an innocent man in prison for child abuse. And possibly even killed by the other inmates for being known as child abuser. This is so vile and malicious a deed, that I'd be unable to view him as anything but my greatest failure. One day, I might find the strength to forgive him. But until then, he's free to live in foster homes.

It's really just unfortunate that the victim still ended up worse off than the accuser. Yeah it's good that they got some karma, but it doesn't feel like enough compared to what he lost. Also that part that mentioned how the kid likes to have control over his mother and saw his mom's bf as a threat leads me to believe that, if his behavior isn't corrected soon, he might grow up to be a manipulator. We could argue that doing anything would jack the kid up, but he has ruined 4 lives over a lie. I iust...I feel like if the mother abandoned him, I would not blame her. The only person I can't blame is the real father who gave him the beating. Kind of _"Don't worry, I would have done the same"_ vibes. It was indeed the right thing to do, except he didn't wait for actual proofs. That was his mistake and lost his career as a consequence. He is the collateral damage of this story.

I've heard this one story where the accused decided they had noticed left and decided to end those who not only didn't believe him but chose to take vigilante justice against him. I can't remember if this was before or after the accuser was found to be lying. Ended up taking her own life.

List of people that stupid son effed over the lie: - James mental health. - Father: He has an assault charge that is going to haunt him to the end of his life. - Mother: She will not have a stable partner soon. She probably will have to move out (And cut ties with his son) and good luck finding someone like James. And not counting that she lost ex inlaws due to her (wrongly) resent and inlaws realized what a failure of a mom she is. - Himself: He is now in the record for being a liar, he lost his grandparents will, the love from the other grandparents that went straight to the police (good people), for sure he lost his father respect (He will put all the blame on his son), James could've been a great step-dad and there is the chance that mom will cut contact with him when she gets tired of being rejected. 14 years old and he already failed in life. And he got it easy, he should've gone to juvie for slander, what a PoS.

I don't blame the dad or future partners, I also feel sorry for James. If you were a dad and heard your underage son was being physically hurt by an adult then you would snap right into madness. As for the future lovers, they don't want to be the next accused, really sucks for the mom on that end because single parent again and now she can't be a woman even if she wanted to, she's stuck as a mom. Lastly for James if his record is completely clean he's luckier than most. If not then he needs to get on top of that, either way it isn't his fault. In case anyone asks me what I mean about the mom being a woman, single parents aren't restricted from looking for love including the mom, but thanks to her son's lie that's no longer an option.

once it was proven that the teenager was lying and faking injuries, why not completely beat him up almost till death and then no one would believe him when he said that james had hit him and even the police would think that he was faking injuries again. perfect opportunity. but james was too nice for that. how tf did this end up worse for the accuser? james paid atleast five times the price!

I have an issue with two things 1. The boy's father getting kicked out of the Army. Soldiers get in fights all the time, I have never heard of one getting kicked out before. 2. The officer immediately accepting the boy's confession without further investigation and threatening him about looking out for him as an adult.

    1. Getting into fights and beating up a defenceless and innocent man is completely different. 2. Police accepting false accusations without question happens more often than you realise since there's little risk if they are wrong.
