Yeah I think frank miller sorta spawned this idea saying that “because of their philosophies the two can never truly be friends” and frankly I just feel that’s wrong. Batman’s whole goal for Gotham is to have people like Clark, people with great power but are willing to use it to help an old lady cross the street, the only difference is that because Gotham is Gotham he has to use fear and mystery to fight people where Clark doesn’t I also feel when people write Superman and Batman being “enemies/against each other” they basically write Batman as lex luthor which I feel you should never do

It was added in to Adult Swim’s time block at the last minute) and it’s actually really good! Jack Quaid’s Superman in that show is one of the best incarnations of Superman, if not the best since Christopher Reeve’s Superman! I’m not kidding! MAwSM’s take on Superman is earnest, charming, and surprisingly complex. Go check it out if you haven’t yet! :)

He didn't have any freak accidents or powers, anything he did he got because he worked for that skillset. Superman was always boring because it seemed like nothing could really challenge him. It was only when I was reading Death of Superman where I saw more of his morals that I started to respect him more

@@2cool-he6ih More recently maybe, but that also depends on what you determine to be plot armor. Having effective plans to beat the JL makes sense, surviving being dropped from orbit with no extra gear doesn't. A lot of people think he can solo anything and view it as positive or negative, the latter I think you fall into, but neither really understands him. Batman can do a lot of things with prep time, but it isn't an instant win button and he isn't always prepared. Part of why I loved The Button was because Thawne almost killed Batman in 30 seconds and the guy had no clue it was coming

Sometimes these characters are written as icons, but just as much they’re also people underneath all that grand stuff. The trick is that this is unironically who he is as a person, its not a persona made to cover up anything like the recent evil supermen archetypes

Between this moment and Jack Quaid’s Superman from “My Adventures with Superman”, I’m so glad we’re getting the humble and charming Superman again. It’s honestly a breath of fresh air after the 2010’s overdid the dark/edgy/evil Superman trope. From the Injustice games to those awful Snyderverse movies, the dark/edgy/evil Superman trope has overstayed its welcome and has become a huge cliche at this point.

Having a sand box that feels big to a Guy who can fly at super speeds hard enough, trying to Justify random non boss enemies being able to hurt him without arming literally everyone with kryptonite makes playing an immersive but challenging experience a mystery to accomplish.

Notice how the justice league flew and zipped in behind Superman.. but Batman was already there. He was always there. All he did was reveal that to you.

This game is gonna shit the bed so hard. They don't even get how the green lantern ring works right when a GL dies. And for them to shit on batman the way they did is pathetic.

Missed the big blue boy scout. So tired of evil superman.

I hope that if Superman lives, there's a scene at the end where he has a breakdown after his mind control is over, seeing how he ruined the world he cherished and killed so many

It would be so sad if when he wakes up wonder woman is there trying to talk to him but all he's doing is looking around at all the destruction he's caused. So he then just bolts into the sky and directly into the sun.

I’d like to think if at the end of the game it was actually just some evil clones and the justice leauge are actually kidnaped And the people who died by this madness somehow gets revived I really don’t want this to be the real JL But that’s just my theory.

A Superman game can easily work. Have you be completely over powered in the tutorial but then he ends up getting attacked by a giant wave a green kryptonite. So then you have to spend the game slowly getting your powers back

I hate what they've done to heroes, and especially to Superman. He cannot seem to escape writers that want him to be a murderous edgelord no matter what, even though he is the most kind, gentle, and righteous character in hero media. Here he is written so beautifully only to fall in the same stupid writers trap AGAIN. If the newest Superman cartoon taught me anything, is that people WANT that kind and heroic Superman back more than ever. Its insane that this keeps happening :(

People will see this and think it’s goofy but the truth is we’ve been so used to Homelander-like characters lately that would say this only for good PR that having Superman who would say this with honesty and sincerity that it comes off as fake like in the other stories

He's so adorkable, a dork and adorable, this is how superman should be

Really playing up the "The Earth's Dad" aspect is making this hurt a lot more...

They really squanched this game up. It could have been an amazing justice league game. But it became a majority of what a lot of people really didn't care for but now they're gonna get because it's kevin conroys last piece a work. Great

Seeing Superman portrayed like this really gives me faith for the game. I'm not excited over the live service aspects, but they seem to understand the characters well, which a lot of developers cannot say the same

"...understand the character well." My brother in Christ this is the absolute bare minimum for Superman's character.

Yeah, they understand him so well that they make him evil a we have to play with a bunch of assholes instead.

From these interactions alone, proves they could have done a good League game

For the past decade we've been getting not only a lot of evil Superman but the "superheroes are actually evil" trope. Yes, they are being controlled by Brainiac, but why do that? Just give us our heroes the way we know them

Because they wanted to make a Suicide Squad game. Or because some suit at Warner Bros decided they needed another live service game and put Rocksteady up to it, and after the avengers flopped and died, they were reluctant to do follow that path with their own household name.

They do. Every character's dialogue in the Hall of Justice proves it. They just chose to write a questionable story despite that.

Too bad outside of the Hall of Justice displays, the entire league is written with such disrespect.

@@Vengeance289 Bad or good is subjective, and how much (if at all) it actually impacted the brand (especially when WB has done counterflips to avoid anything with him) has been severely overblown by deeply paranoid and dramatic people.

I know some people are being dismissive of Batman's personality in this game as overly friendly and cheery in the museum, but the whole point of the museum is to establish the five as being close friends and make the rest of the story more tragic from their point of view.

Yeah, sucks he's being controlled to be evil for 99% of the game.

Rocksteady gotta make a Superman prequel game before the events of Arkham Knight

This is the superman every hated until they started trying to make him edgy and then realized this is the better version.

I really wish rocksteady could’ve just made a justice league game. Superman is written very well here. I love his corny ass even if he is op af. Making him human is what makes Kal El interesting

People are talking about a Justice League game while forgetting how itd probably turn into a beatemup. I feel like though, a Young Justice game would nake the characters fun yet underpowered enough to be something good.

Now this is the Clark Kent I grew up with, the one I know and love Brave, noble, caring, not just a man of steel but a man of integrity and selflessness, a true symbol of hope for all of mankind.
