I'm an automation engineer who started my career in HVAC but currently work on large assembly lines. Been in the business for over 30 years. Found quick connect fittings some years back using on CPVC backs and the plastic coated steel pipe. Love the fittings. You were right about vibration sometimes they do come loose but all you have to do is shove them back in and they'll hold for another 5 years.
Respect that you gave the owner of that company credit for a worthy product yet remained professionally in disagreement. Need more leaders like you man, come to Idaho and train my crew 😂
I saw these in action in a video a few months back. I would like to try them. Thanks for your work Roger!

Thank you Roger!
Thank you Roger. You inspired me to order some Quick Fittings for my hot water heater and bathroom water shut off valve repairs.
I used some to run summer garden hose spickets out to a garden. We used then since it always the easiest way to connect the copper above ground pipe to the pex underground.
I used to be a computer professional. I used to define design and make systems for people in all the different disciplines. The experts and the users of those systems considered me everything of that and asked me about anything and everything. I still have that wisdom. I learned plumbing on my own. I used it to redo my pipes. I installed 3/4 CPVC over 1/2 in my house, shortened the length and made more flexible routes. I installed a basement sink, electric water heater, change all the faucets to single liver faucets, whole house and drinking water filters and now I am installing a gas water heater XR90. I made a video on how to save water in washing hands and shower. These all projects are actually simple and the description of the parts, KZread videos and the city codes always guided me to do that things in the right way. Your videos are good and I watched two such videos before starting to install the new water heater.
in emergencies, temporary patches, and where you can get to them to replace them?
What about what you said in previous videos about the reduction of push-to-connect valves. Is that different with these or the same as Sharkbite?
Paused at 0:08 to answer....NOWHERE!! Lol jk...I would never use sharkbites unless it was an emergency and I had no other option. I ran into a scenario like that a few years ago where the main water shut off(old gate valve) broke and caused the gate to push into the mostly closed position. They only had a trickle of water. When I had the city ahut the curb stop off, we discovered the curb stop was also broken and couldn't shut the water off. So have ZERO OTHER OPTIONS.....I cut the main water LIVE. I was able to get as prepared as possible with some 3" pvc above that elbowed around and onto the ground by the sump pump and used a ¾" shark-bite shutoff in the open position until it was fully on, then I closed it and finished the other side. I would've used press if I wasn't afraid of it getting ruined by the water blasting everywhere. P.s. about 2 years after, the shark-bite started leaking and I sweat a ball valve on it. 🤣

Great story....One thing I've had pretty good luck with on stripped or stuck gate valves - is you can often unscrew the housing "live" (next to the packing nut)....Then remove the gate valve guts with some needle nose or vice grips then re-screw the valve housing back in. The valve obviously won't shut off anymore since the "gate" part was removed but it can save you some time messing with the piping until you have the right circumstances to do it right.....

@@KD-hi6hh not a bad idea, I would be a little "iffy" on a potential leak, but the point of it all is just a temporary fix until the curb-stop is replaced and water can be shut off. I'm gonna have to remember that. God knows I get several free floating gate valves every year!

@@Random-name87 So true.....I gotta say though, those old style Nibco T113 gate valves, the ones with the big packing nut - not the cheaper ones - Were solid as heck. I'm an old timer and have come across some that are over 30 years old and still open and close perfectly. Back then the lead laws didn't exist and those babies were bullet proof! They still make them but they're not the same quality as before.....But yes most were cheapo and like you said, "float" and are worthless.....
I am a plumber here in Seattle WA I usually talk down on shark bite but I’m interested in looking seeing how these compare might change my perspective on them
Never use them inside a finished wall…can I get some push to connect fittings Rodger?
Can i Still get a sample if I live in Canada?
Haven't had the need to use any king of push to connect fitting, usually if there is an equipment that vibrates a lot, i would just use a braided stainless steel flex connector, depending on the application of course. But the more people use quick fittings, the more future job's we will have in the future to change them out. I don't like to use propress on the exterior but anything inside a house or building, don't mind if i do.
Not licensed, havent been through or ever registered for a formal apprenticeship (yet), ive been strongly considering that again recently though. Ive got about 10 years of plumbing specific experience though. Id love to try some but likely wont qualify.
I am a plumbing manager for my company. Would be interested in testing these fitting out with my crew in field.
I am a maintenance supervisor for 2 large apartment complexs
well I'm kind of like you if it's under slab underground in a wall I'd rather sweat it cramp it clamp it not push to connect but that's just me and I still may be old school and you're older than me
I am an electrician but help my father-in-law who is a retired pipe fitter. He has never used a push to connect fitting. I’d like to show him what is new in the 21 century. ;-)
What if I'm a plumbers assistant? 😅 everyone still like free stuff...the plumber I work for absolutely hates push on type fittings. But they have came in handy a lot of times.
I'm a apprentice 4th year
What’s the difference between these and the other brands out there?

Hes got another recent video where he did some semi scientific destructive testing. They look pretty good. They use copper for the seal rather than an o-ring(like sharkbites and similar)
I prefer to install ptc fittings right into the dirty brass scrap bin
damn it Tim I want it now not in 5 minutes
The proof I’m a plumber. Proofs in the pudding baby
I’m a fourth year apprentice I signed up hope they send me something.

Blasphemy!!!
Press fittings is the best it will last you for a great time but you have to prep well before installing
They don't call him Roger Push to connect Wakefield for no reason.
**cough** sharkbite **cough**
Sad!! You have to have a plumbers license for the give away. 😒.
This video just confirms my theory. He bad talked shark bite too much and I think the reason was they wouldn't give him the sponsor money he wanted.... Next company to come along and agree on the price and he's standing behind it.

@@kevinreed9227 I'm no advocate for sharkbite just pointing out the hypocrisy.
Where too not here install here. Read it like that.
I got to say I'm a little thrown off about this video you were a hardcore against shark bites now that it's a sponsored video you're selling it like crazy
Wonder how much he is getting paid for this junk. So much for him talking smack about sharkbite, now he is promoting the same kind of fitting 🤣

He is likely getting something but they are different and better designed than sharkbites. Watch his other video testing them, its pretty persuasive.

The quick connects featured in this video are potentially more resilient than ProPress. Quick Connects are not all created equally.
He talks too much…but he does not show us how to use it.
You recommend any good grease traps 🪤? I got a buddy doing a restaurant first time putting one of those how do I know the size he might need for his restaurant
