Without having seen the documentary, I can almost guarantee that Henri warmed up a little beforehand. Not on that particular piano, obviously, but he had a weighted keyboard somewhere and got 'into' the feel of the grooves and tempos of this piece behind the scenes somewhere just prior to this recording. There is no shame in this and it goes a long way toward being in the right headspace in order to nail it perfectly for the unsuspecting audience. Amazing independence at some high tempos; Very well done, Henri.

His amazing performance left me breathless.
I have been doing the normal thing for about an hour clicking on music video and listening for 30 seconds before listening to something else. This guy stopped me completely and reduced me to tears. So much joy and I listened to the whole thing without any thinking, just floods of tears of total joy. I love the emotion this guys playing brought up in me. Totally wonderful.

It's an amazing feeling to play an instrument & become totally absorbed in what you're playing, especially when you finish off & you know you nailed it dead right. The buzz is incredible & it makes all the work of learning to play feel very worthwhile, even when you're the only one who hears it.
If I had been there...I would have been the first one stop and listen - regardless of who stopped. What a gift!! Free concert

Its an interesting phenomena in crowd dynamics, but the most important element of gathering a crowd is not a leader. Its the first followers. A man dancing on his own is a man dancing on his own, but add a couple of those first followers and boom, you've got a crowd.

Lots of reasons for that. 1) self-absorbed, 2) absorbed with worry and elsewhere mentally, 3) jealous, 4) in a hurry because their life sucks or they're as disorganized as me, 5) actual philistines, 6) shy, etc. I usually stop and cheer them on because that's my jam.
