Back in December, I found out that Crawford County, Illinois tests their sirens on a different time than the rest of (most of) Illinois, and as far as I know it hasn’t had a good recording yet. I happened to be in the area on a first Wednesday due to a family situation, so I went here with my grandma. I was under the impression the Marathon refinery in Robinson, the agency responsible for controlling the Whelen sirens in Crawford County, would test in voice and fast wail, but I was sorely mistaken as you can see. I absolutely did not expect them to test in wail, hi-lo and alert signals, even if it was for a short period of time. Sorry for the talking at the end of the video, my grandma was very fascinated by all of the signals. This was an incredible and interesting test and I hope to be back here soon! Enjoy the video!
