    I’d love to see an Evo successful in GLTC but definitely respect the lift to get there.

    Nice to see W2W racing from the US most i have seen on other channels are from Europe or other countries. Really sorting out oiling and temperature wise are what evo owner want to keep an eye on.

    I would keep the Evo for TA and consider a more W2W reliable platform for the GLTC stuff. Evo is just hard to keep reliable in endurance and hot summer time. Hell even just doing HPDE stuff I can get the oil to 270 here in FL if I stay out the whole session, water maxes out at 215 (post thermostat so hottest water coming out of the engine). Good luck!

    Everything on the car should be operating at under factory limits. Other than beating up on everything on track. SHOULD be reliable. Just need to get the cooling under control.

    Nice vid man 😀really cool to see more trying out the wheel to wheel from TA (the likes of G&G and yourself) and seeing the competition in the US from a competitors pov. I have an evo 7 that I ran in uk time attack and its a really fun car to run, easy to work on and pretty capable to a point but definitely need to dial a lot of understeer out of the setup and get the oiling system up to par for some higher G cornering as long right handers watching the pressure half is a bit worrying to say the least 😂 Those oil temps did seem oddly high considering the power it was running at, the last event I did was similar ambient and was on about a 420hp map doing 25-30 min sessions (that was a 3/4 tank worth..) and never saw more than like 110c oil temp even on the stock side mount oil cooler. Am also using a 53mm core koyorad for a evo 4-6 (straighter top hose position) that keeps coolant temp nicely under control, but not sure about fitment with bigger turbos as I'm only on a hybrid 9 turbo called a tt s209 so is stock frame.. Maybe some ducting/shrouding around the cooler would help to get those temps down? Or even running a heavier weight oil can help for example I'm running 10w60 in mine as it's only really driven on track for long stints. That piston though was proper weird.. have got a forged CP pistons in a 5rs my dad owns and never had an issue with them at 450hp/450tq and revving to 8k so weird to see one crack at even under stock power!?

    Thanks! I have a front cover on the bumper I can take off that would significantly help I think. A little ducting to the rear mounted oil cooler would help as well. I also have a dailey engineering dry sump oil system for those pesky right handers. Haha

    @@KrebsbachRacing Yeah you should be sound then on temps, would take the drag penalty any day to keep things running as cool as possible for longer stints. Dry sump indeed is the best way, reduces positive crank case pressure too which is super nice on these as they love to have blowby at higher boost. I'm gonna try out an accusump to start with as just a way lower cost and for the level the rest of the cars at would match, mine is stock block so running the risk of windowing it at any moment as it is 😂

    W2W looks awesome from a driver standpoint, but from an observer, the car just looks so neutered and unhappy. She just wants to go fast and perhaps the cracked piston is her way of saying she wants TA/Autox back lol.

    Just found your Channel. Love the dedication u put it. Nice edit and chill commentary. I am suprised that u mentioned cooling being not good with under stock power 😅 But 250 I would still consider as normal oil temps. Especially since u are racing. Or are you used to cooler temps with your custom build oil tank/pump? And what a bummer from CP blaming you for this. Did u tell them that u were driving even under stock power? 😅 . I am suprised you went with CP again. No other options in the same size? Wiseco? And i was wondering if you can recommend any bolt ons turbos for and beefed up engine, forged pistons and so on. Looking for something with good response and similiar spool like stock evo 9 turbo for 450+ whp pump gas Or anybody else tried an AGT turbo? Considering importing one to germany

    It shouldn’t be hard to run reliably at that power level, but I’m surprised that you’d want to put a car with that level of blood, sweat, and tears into a W2W setting where it could get wadded up at no fault of yours. I’d stick with TA and W2W something more expendable.

  • @KrebsbachRacing

    @KrebsbachRacing

    There is a slighty bigger risk of wadding up the car, but also the speeds we run vs time attack is quite a bit different. 160mph+ vs only 125ish.
