These are the types of issues I run across every time I attempt a sizable project. They can be frustrating and disheartening. I appreciate solutions like this. I’m really enjoying your channel, Kenny. Glad it came into my feed. Keep up the good work!

Great job. A needle scaler does come in handy. I will have to get one. People will tell you that you can't weld to cast iron. But the ones that can, will tell you to preheat the iron first with a torch to prep the metal.

I've got the same problem on my Massey Ferguson 255 Farm Tractor stuck on the hill with a front flat tire. Big Lugs

At the same problem after having taken our car to the Toyota dealer to replace a tire. Went to rotate the tires and found out they cross threaded the bolts. Would of be great if I had a flat tire on the side of the road and found out that I couldn't remove the tire. I tried to remove the lug nuts and one was so cross threaded that the stud broke loose and was spinning around.

I thought the part of the hub that the studs went through is steel, the knuckle is cast-iron. Learn something new every day.

In such a tight spot, stick welding with 6011 or 6010 rod works great, especially if you attach the ground so current doesn't go through the bearing. Those rods eat through rust, you get excellent penetration and a functional weld even if it isn't so clean, and they work even on the old AC buzz boxes from the past. I'm not sure the hub is cast, I think it is similar to mild steel rotors. Those things are put on a lathe for final finishing, and the high carbon in cast iron would destroy the lathe tools. I use old brake rotors for welding practice, they weld easily.

LoL Kenny, i gotta tell ya, that's the one thing that i've always found a little strange about the videos. it's just so dang quiet in there. it's a little spooky at times. LmAo p.s. never had a doubt you wouldn't be able to weld it and whoop it. have a good sunday my friend.

Not a mechanic by trade, just a question from a novice....could you put a nut on the end of the stud and drive it out with a hammer?

Replace the stud and hub.
