E10 has been in Australia for over 15 years yes panic because l can tell you from personal experience that with E10 has not good how long did nissan test them for over a long period yes they want to get older cars of the road my brother had a new ran E10 and it was pinging so he went back to using 91 yes we can get 91 petrol in Australia and l use it in my 1997 toyota hilux ute because it has a carburetor and no cat converter and also in N.S.W if your car is over 5 years old you have to take it for a regestration inspection a bit like your MOT but there is no emessoin test l am glad l live in Australia because l drive my ute around and buy 91 fuel in it

Hey thanks for your comment it seemed like it was quite a rushed roll out here for e10 with minimal information and compatibility released which caused a lot of confusion and panic

Hi Rob been using E5 since October 2021 in my 2003 Ford Focus since this scaremongering happened and had no problems. Better mpg and engine performance fine.

Hey thanks for commenting, E5 is now known as premium fuel due to it having only 5% ethanol content. I’ve had alot of people tell me they tried E10 and it wasn’t right for them so stuck to E5, it’s a case of what works best for you :) hope your safe and well

Try e10 if your car doesn’t like it then try e5 and see which it runs better on. I can imagine e10 will be fine in this

Hi Rob using e10 in my 2011 ceed 1.4 engine is best to run her empty then use e5 again or would it be safe to mix e10 and e5 toghter as I find I'm having to use redex every 3rd fill roughly getting around 290 miles on half a tank of fuel plus's will e5 give me more miles than e10 baring in mind car roughly holds 390 miles

Hey James, thanks for the message in my best advice I would run your e10 as low as safely possible and then fill up with E5 to the maximum amount safe for the car that should get you the better results. Im not a big fan of mixing fuels as in my opinion you would be diluting the E5 with the e10 that’s already in your tank. Hope this helps

Unfortunately there are so many variables in miles per gallon it would be almost impossible to compare for example roads driven on and driving style all you can do is run a tank of premium and see if you achieve any higher doing the same driving you normally do without changing your driving style :)

My tuning company for my car have advised me to not use e10 because of the fuel pump fitted but iv also seen a few posts about e10 so I sat and done the maths (these are set on fuel prices local. To me but ull see there's not much in it) £10 of fuel at E10 at £1.35 a ltr gets you 7.4 ltrs (1.61 gallons) My car average 35mpg = 56miles to that £10 E5 premium at £1.46 a ltr gets you 6.8 ltrs (1.48 gallons) Again my car average 35mpg = 52 miles to that £10 So in all Honestly that means every 10 pound at 35 mpg your losing around 4 miles Is it worth risking e10 if you are unsure I don't really things so to be honest Even at Lower mpg the difference is still around 3 to 4 miles loss per £10, even at higher 50 mpg (non of our St's will ever see that) the loss is only 6 miles obviously depending on the prices in your area it will be slightly different, but not by much at worse case if you was to pay £1.50(motor way services price) per ltr for E5 premium and £1.35 for E10 your loosing 5 to 6 miles to £10 at 35mpg What worrys me many aftermarket parts, rubbers, seals and even Internals are not designed for e10 and even the government website says this. altho test have deemed it "safe" it hasn't been tested on every engine or older engines, personally from me the little miles lost is worth it knowing its the fuel my vehicle was designed to run on I read somewhere it's safe in all engines post 2005 the st150 engine has been around a wile I belive it was first put in a mondeo in the year 2000... Anyways its up to personal choice personally I'd rather lose a few miles then even have 1% chance of damage or lose of profomance I mean if your running a newer car then no issues at all but honestly altho price per ltrs mat look a lot for premium in reality its not as bad as you think....

@@TheVWMechanic_official yeah loads people are worrying but in all honestly most people with cars after 2005 will be fine only reason I worry is my car has a upgraded fuel pump and e10 can apparently damage the rubbers in it, if people are worried tho E5 isn't much more expensive

It sounds like more of an issue with your vehicle than the fuel, this does not rule out the chance of contaminated fuel which can genuinely happen
