Yes, it is a different reality but it is nearly identical in every other way. The primary difference is that this world's Rick actually found the solution to solve the kronenbourg crises, then died. While the main R& M completely failed and ditched their reality. That's it.

Thing is rick and morty is insanely funny but very profound and deep. I think the point was exactly as rick said...what about the reality we're Hitler cured cancer the answer is don't think about it...everything is pointless anybody (even a version of rick and morty themselves could die very meaningless deaths) and then we see summer and jery and Beth arguing not knowing their rick and morty are dead and yet they're arguing about trivial shit. And rick like the super aware genius he is just sits down with a drink in his hand completely unphased. The concept will be expanded more in later episodes anyway.

If there are infinite realities, then the new dimension they're in doesn't have to be any different from the last one. Infinite realities means that everything that can happen will happen somewhere, but it also means that the exact same events will happen an infinite number of times. That's how infinity works. An infinite number of realities also means an infinite number of each iteration of reality.

it is a different family in the sense that they are living in different realities so their outcomes won't be the same because they will be put into different situations their personalities will mature differently
