Just so we’re all clear, the studio was looking for a reason to get rid of him. On top of the allegation, through out the duration of the shows climb, he stopped coming to contribute at writers meetings would rarely show up to the office. more than one of his co workers have attested to him becoming more and more intolerable to work with, so although yes he has been proven innocent they just needed a big enough reason to get him off the show for being a nuisance to work with. Edit: he was found not guilty not proven innocent.

He brought the characters to life you can bring in someone to match the voice but it still wouldn’t be the same and that goes for all voice actors who voiced a character

I genuinely dont mind the recast, but i think knowing that Rick and Morty are not both voiced by Justin anymore will kill the mantra of the show. I think the fact that a prepubescent teen and a old man being played by the same person was a trait we dont see too often in shows anymore

I was thinking about this yesterday, for Rick and Morty. There are tons of people that can replicate the characters' voices; but my concern actually lies within the personality/character that Justin brought to the show. Thinking back to all the ad-libs he did, and even breaking character laughing and just having that level of fun with the characters (including the side characters); I wonder if that'll be lost on hiring a new voice actor.

You know you're good when you get replaced by five other people. I prefer Roiland.

@@662mann8 the Fionna and Cake spin off series is for adults. Adventure Time has always been about long term and high quality storytelling. The og series pushes the limits on what a so called kid show can be. Lemongrab is not so likeable. He is not bad but still. He is not important so nobody cares about Lemongrab. Important characters people care about are Finn, Jake, Marceline, Ice King, Fionna, Cake, etc.

However, this information has not spread the same way as the information about his guilty. He has not proven himself not guilty before the people despite legally being not guilty. The people and companies have found him guilty and punished him but the law hasn’t. Therefore it makes sense to say “another chance”. Two different contexts.

The voice of lemongrab was supposed to be loud and annoying, but Justin gave the character soul with his work. Any idea how iconic the Lemongrab voice is? Simply reading the word "Unacceptable" will force your brain to read it in his voice for crying out loud. Even for a couple second clip of the new Lemongrab ONLY has the annoying part of the voice, it doesn't sound like our beloved lemon at all, it's clear that they just hired someone for one line and that was it, which is fine if the character doesn't show up again later, but what if they do another project? Will they hire the same person they did for Fionna and Cake? It's just uninspired and it's sorta clear that they only hired them BECAUSE they're a drag queen.

TO EVERYONE WHO KEEPS SAYING "BRING BACK JUSTIN," TIME TO GET EDUCATED. 👇👇 If you think Roiland has done NOTHING WRONG and deserves to be on the show and was wrongly fired over false charges, you have a very surface-level understanding of the situation. Unless you either like defending a creep, or have the attention span of a 3 year old and can't read more than 4 sentences of information, i recommend you either research the matter yourself, or read the information I'm about to kindly lay on you, because there's a lot more complexity to the matter than you seem to think. Firstly, The DV charges were not the first issue about roiland to come to light, they were only the most massively publicized. In reality, the studio already had issues with roiland dating way back as far as late season 2. He essentially stopped putting effort into the show when Dan Harmon started bringing in more writers. Roiland had stopped showing up to writing sessions and started becoming more and more untimely and unreliable with recording his lines (it was even worse on Solar Opposites, where episode releases were delayed because they were still waiting for roiland to record his lines). Secondly, he constantly mistreated the other writers and would sexually harass some of the female writers (this all comes from statements from the writers themselves, including Dan Harmon himself, who arguably knows Justin better than anyone else). Because of Roilands increasingly unpleasant attitude towards everyone, and his further distancing himself from the studio in general, it became very hard (for everyone) to work with him. And tensions between Roiland and the other writers, especially Harmon, has only grown since then. Harmon was very stressed out by it and stayed quiet for years until recently when he did a public interview. None of this should be surprising. Roiland has a very crude and "offensive" style of humor, and it's not uncommon for people with that type of mind to have a personality to match. Roiland is simply not a very good guy, whether he's guilty of DV or not. Long story short, the studio was looking for a reason to get rid of him for a long time before the DV charges went public. And let's just be real for a second-- he probably did do it. Even though false accusations do happen all the time, all signs point to the possibility that Roiland is the type of guy who would do that. She simply did not have anything she could use to prove him legally guilty without a doubt. The charges weren't "proven false," they just couldn't be proven true. And here's the last piece of info for you to chew on: all of the previous stuff i mentored is not even accounting for the creepy twitter DMs with underage girls, which is easily the worst of his offenses, and they were proven to be real. While he didn't actually commit any acts of pedophilia (that we know of), he talked in a very creepy and suggestive way to fans that he knew were underage. He used his fame and influence on young people to take advantage of them. Illegal or not, this is simply disgusting behavior, and if all the previous things I mentioned don't make you stop supporting and respecting roiland, I hope to god this does. And before demanding me to post sources, literally just look up "Dan Harmon interview 2023" and "Justin roiland twitter DMs." You can find all the proof yourself if you think I'm talking out of my ass. I hope this information is enlightening, because there's a lot of reasons why he didn't deserve to be on the show anymore. He was unprofessional, childish, and a total creep. No, he was not "Johnny Depp'd."

I hate to say it but, I’ve actually been enjoying the new R&M season without Justin’s writing, so far episodes have had actual fun with their premises, the explaining jokes everyone gets thing isn’t as obnoxious, we actually conclude storylines instead of stretching them out Like there’s a bitterness to seasons 2-6 that’s not there anymore or at least not as prevalent as it was

It's not like Roiland isn't talented, but I was floored how good the Rick and Morty replacements are. They sound exactly the same. Watching season 7 i really realized not only that what he brought to the table wasnt as special as we alll thought, but it seems like he really was the problem in the writing room.

Rick was good to me on the first episode, Morty barely had screen time so we have to wait to the next episode.

Kind of depressing that people think because the charges were dropped he should be entirely forgiven for the extremely creepy things he's openly said to and about minors and the horror stories from his coworkers. There can be other reasons to fire someone outside of criminal charges; like being a generally awful person and terrible coworker. And truly, by the last episodes of season 7 of R&M, you can't even tell the difference.

This show fucking died as soon as he was fired.

It’s absolutely bull crap that Justin Roiland lost pretty much his whole career, and all of his projects taken away from him, even though he was found innocent, meanwhile, Amber heard who is found guilty, gets to keep her job/career

Morty hitting puberty is because wasn't he like 14 on season 1? and we have seen 3 christmas episodes in rick and morty. season 1 ep 3, season 4 ep5, and season 6 ep 10. so in theory he should be 16-17 and yet hes still 14?

Moment of silence for Justin- whos charges were all dropped. Justin had his creation slowly stolen and ripped away from him, and not just Rick and Morty but multiple roles/ casts. Gotta love living in a woke society where all it takes is UNPROVEN accusations from a (unidentified) embittered ex to ruin a man’s livelihood and life work. Remember the Johnny depp case? Remember how majority of people thought he was guilty before they even knew anything about the case? Remember how once it was publicly broadcasted everyone could see for themselves how manipulative amber heard was? Imagine that case never got live streamed- the court of public opinion would still be on ambers side! It’s just sad how easily public opinion is swayed without any actual evidence. Oh also the reports of Justin having issues with the studio before he got fired are probably somewhat true- Dan Harmon admits he brought on his own writers without even consulting about doing so with Justin- and that’s what hurt Justin- Rick and Morty Is literally Justin’s creation- I’d be upset too if my “friend” started making executive decisions about the show without even talking about it. And of course as soon as the accusations came out- instead of getting Justin’s point of views or waiting for further evidence they just immediately can Justin and fire him from his own creation. It’s honestly a sad world we live in man. (If actual evidence ever gets presented of Justin doing these horrible things he was ACCUSED of then I will eat my words and 100% be against Justin, problem is there IS NO evidence. The only thing close to evidence I’ve seen is those text screenshots where he’s just talking crazy to people- and it’s sooooo easy to fake text screenshots so I’m not sure if those even mean anything. Also if those screenshots were real I’m still not sure they alone validate ripping this man’s entire career and creations away from him)

i mean sure... but the people behind the are gonna go back to waiting for roiland... Roiland had stopped showing up to writing sessions and started becoming more and more untimely and unreliable with recording his lines (it was even worse on Solar Opposites, to the point where releases were delayed because they were still waiting for roiland to record his lines) imagine that you have to intentionally delay release on episodes, just because 1 VA is not showing up to do their job.

After a while I didn’t notice the voice actor change when I watched the first episode of season 7

Lemongrab: 3/10 Morty: 7/10 Rick: 8/10 Mr.Poopybutthole: 6/10 The rick and morty voice cast sounds good enough but they did Lemongrab dirty man, its horrid recast again bruh

The fact that the Lemongrab voice aired is fucking insane. I physically cringed at that scene while watching Fionna and Cake, that scene alone dropped it a rating point for me. That should not have been allowed to air.

Crazy. Anyones voice can be replicated by another person. You just got to be famous enough to get the attention.

Season 7 had some banger episodes so far and the voices fit in fine.

Bring back Justin it's sad how you can lose everything because somebody makes an accusation without proof and everyone turns their back on you including your supposed best friend who made the show with you

I havent watched alot of Rick & Morty, but even I can tell the difference in the voice is so different. They tried to do his characters voices and sorta came close, but you can just hear they are each abit off.

If you're complaining about it being annoying, you're either a bigot looking for a reason to hate on queer people, and you shouldn't be complaining about the voice actor but complaining about the decision of that character existing with that personality (which you only really get to care about if you like the show in spite of the voice - otherwise just accept that it's not a show for you...)

Just because an actor has been recasted doesn't mean it's downhill or that it's ruined. Because writing matters more not actors. Rick and Morty will continue to be good as long if the writing continues to be good. If the writing is bad in this new season then it's bad not because of the actor replacement. Same thing can be said for Solar Opposites. This Rick is almost close to the original and Morty is 100% accurate

The thing about Justine Roiland's role in Rick and Morty is that he didn't just voiced Rick and Morty, but also made up 90% of side and background characters. Not only that, but Rick and Morty is also known for additional ad libs and improvisation that occur beyond they script. The new VA, whoever that may be, is most likely expected to do the same thing with going beyond the given script and do additional parts beyond Rick and Morty, otherwise the network has to get either its current VA's or maybe hire even more VA's to perform those additonal characters and pay them in additon.

Meeting Justin Roiland was amazing at Toronto Fan Expo, but i fear for him. When he came to Fan Expo he was super late partying the night before. If he's going through some stuff, I'd hope he's getting the help he needs. He's actually a super fun person too when i talked to him for about 5 minutes - the lady beside him was telling him to move along and get to the next person. I think he truly apprecites his fans.

The new guys sound perfect to me. I’m very glad they got people that could almost perfectly mimic them. I could notice only a couple times where I thought Rick or Morty expressed themselves differently than I would expect.
