It means the damage no longer controls our lives.

I think that's part of the healing process. Also, I never intended to come off defensive. This kind of communicating is difficult because you can't see each others expressions behind the words being conveyed. Thank you truly, for your *Kindness!* I really do appreciate it. :)

I love how you ask her what's wrong just to comfort her knowing that it's hard to open up and trust people telling her she doesn't have to go into much detail and you just giving her comfort. The way that you hug her , rub her back and kiss her forehead is just everything that is needed in this case, my favorite line is "I want home to comfortable for you, I want you to be comfortable around me". My dad has always mentally abused me, calling me bad names, sometimes hitting me, just overall I dont like him. And this helped, a lot, thank you!

I love how comforting this is for people who actually go through stuff like this. We should all be supportive about what has happened to other people, this man proves that people can really be generous and kind in there own ways!

When you’ve been bullied, sexually assaulted by someone you thought you could trust when you were only 8yrs old, had a bf who moved away without telling you, and you broke a guy’s Heart by accident and feel extremely guilty about it, have severe general anxiety, problems with self hate/self harm… this is heaven and hits home harder than anything ever has.

when i was 12, i was harassed by a guy friend of mine and i never really trusted any male after that. i genuinely didn’t realise the severity of it until now and just thinking about it just dkakwndjsje it really messes with me, the part about being behind the listener hits really close to this whole video was just so special , thank you

This was so sweet 💜💜💜- I've never been the victim of physical abuse at the hands of a partner, but I know what it's like to be so emotionally raw and open that everything just feels like too much; like any kind of stimuli is salt in an open wound, and it's not fun (anxiety and depression are awful). It takes a really special kind of person to be able to make space for someone else's trauma, and to put aside the time and energy to help somebody work through the parts of themself that they struggle with alone, and to know that sometimes they'll struggle even more with choosing to be that vulnerable with someone else too.

What a great script by Mel! When you've been through some type of abuse, it can manifest in unexpected ways even long after you have done your best to come to terms with it. I thought this audio captured that reaction and how it can impact relationships really well.

You are not broken just because someone did some horrible things to you that you did NOT deserve. You can find the people who will treat you the way you deserve to be treated and you deserve to be treated well. 💜

If every man was like this, we would all be blessed. This is how men should treat women! With chivalry and respect, comfort and kindness, we need more of this in this world.

I’m new here ( and now joined your Patreon) and with the way the world is right now, it’s triggered a lot of my anxiety and I cannot put into words how much this calms me down and allows me to do normal things like eat and sleep. Love that there is no description at all and I can use my imagination quite a bit which makes it more enjoyable and probably why it calms me. I also wanna say you probably have a more dominant cause I’m kinda a little and I feel those undertones in what you speak. Basically love everything and border jealous because I couldn’t write things like this but I’m happy with my poetry but there is so much within writing realm that you wanna attempt everything. I know people can’t be perfect but damn when I listen to these I do hope I get be someone similar who understands emotional baggage, have similar values and accepts me regardless.
