Thanks Holden! It's great to hear from you
Having lived in Zagreb for almost four months now, I generally agree (although I’ve never had a problem getting an Uber). The best thing here are the people. My biggest gripe is the graffiti. It’s everywhere, and it’s not artsy. I’t just ugly and it detracts from much of the great architecture. I lived in Prague for several months last year and, by contrast, Prague’s old town has very little graffiti.

Yeah I only had issues with Uber from the airport but otherwise it was always available. And yes, it's hard not to notice the graffiti. I'm pretty used to it coming from Chicago haha. Thanks for watching!

Tha graffiti came from uncivilized Croatian idiots who don't have love for their country. And most where made in the 90ies. I would love to start a movement to erase them slowly. (Erese the graffiti)

Thanks for watching! I didn't have much of an issue at all. Most locals speak at least some level of english and I found everyone to be very welcoming and patient when it came to communicating. Overall, you should be just fine :)
I’d like to see some of your personal interactions with the locals

In Zadar old town, only half of the shops are open on Sunday. The rest is closed. Most attend church. It’s a bit old European

Could you please tell me the name of the stew in the video (2:52)? Where can I find a good version of it?
@camdendavid
10 ай бұрын
I'm not sure what the stew is called but there's a chef who prepares a meal from scratch twice a week (this was one of his dishes). I'm pretty sure you can find him on Tuesdays and Fridays outside a place called "Cheese Bar." I provide a bit more detail in my '10 things to do in Zagreb' video around the 6:13 marker. Hope that helps!

It's some sort of goulash (gulaš), originally of Hungarian origin but Croats in the north & east eat it. There are countless variations on this sort of dish.

Nothing works in Zagreb. Full of graffiti, public transport is horrible, facades are not painted, no cool modern-old redone places, not a place for cycling, cars parked everywhere, etc...
