Holy - so good to know most top kids DON'T go to class. I'm a 3rd year med student in Australia and have NEVER gone to a non-mandatory class and have consistently been top of class for last 2 years. It is much more efficient use of your time to just study yourself. Keep it up bro!

Shoutout to this man right here. I appreciate your positivity on the subject. Like many others in the comments below (or above) other channels have a negative mindset (let's not discredit the possibility that they might be keeping it real) but the initial mindset itself is a massive part of being able to do something. I can relate to the concept you spoke about: the "stepping up" situation where you're put into a class that so many others label as "too difficult". I've taken Biochemistry (legendary hardest class in my college) as well as Parasitology (many others struggled) but its these classes that I seem to have succeeded in the most. Let's keep the vibe going friend. Stay on it!

Thank you so much for this video. Your mentality about life "I can do it, even if people tell me it's hard" is something I wish I had a lot earlier. All throughout high school my counselors/my parents would tell me taking too many AP classes/doing that extra thing was too hard, and I would believe them and second-guess myself. I admire your hard work, belief in yourself, and your ambitions!

Thanks for this video! It’s so refreshing to hear someone optimistic! I’m still a premed and it’s so disheartening when your pushing and struggling mid semester but you have deeply rooted reasons and passions for why you feel called to medicine that far surpasses the financial aspect and all around you everyone is telling you “don’t do it. Just become a CRNA. Medical school is so hard you won’t be able to have a family or blah blah blah.” So when you are struggling and all you are hearing is everyone telling you you are nuts and wasting your time, it’s easy to have a tiny voice in the back of your head make you question if you are right or if they are just negative because my reasons aren’t theirs. So I’ve just kept pushing on and working hard because their negativity has not changed my convictions of why I want this so bad but it’s still nice to finally see someone say something remotely positive! I really appreciate the time you put into this! It’s the first video I’ve seen of yours and I am looking foreword to watching mor of your content over winter break. Thanks again! 🤓👊🏻

Thank you for making this video it really helped clarify and confirm the advice I have heard from doctors as advice on going into the medical field. I agree with your point about if you push your self you will be able to do it. I have had a lot of people say that as a junior in high school that I cannot handle being a competitive athlete and be in a two-year program of college classes plus high school, AP classes, IB classes, and honors classes. Your point is exactly right people can handle it if they try hard enough and have enough determination I have been able to. Thank you for the advice!

I completely agree with what you said. Hard things are still doable; the most intimidating thing is when someone tells you that something is “too hard.” I’m a freshman in highschool, and they opened up AP classes for us to take. I decided to take one, as well as honors chemistry and geometry, and a gifted language arts class. Although my teachers vehemently discouraged me not to take it, I did and it was absolutely doable as long as I managed my time. Thank you for the video!

This couldn’t be more true. Wish I could’ve heard this advice back when I was in high school and college. Thanks for the video! I hope it inspires others to pursue medicine/ tougher challenges in life ♥️. Before I entered my vet school, I was extremely fearful of having to give up on some personal things in my life but after completing my first year, I realized I didn’t have to. People are always trying to scare you but you just have to believe in yourself and your capabilities.

Thank you! I needed this inspiration so bad! I quit studying recently for the mcat because I thought if I didn’t do well and get in this cycle I would give up. I’m 28 so I feel super old. I want to do preventative medicine and I’m afraid I won’t be able to use nutrition therapy like I want to. I’m super into Buddhism so that is dictating how I feel. As far as wanting to live a simple life. I definitely think I can handle it and would rather study and learn new things than have a family. But I also want to travel most of my life and I feel like with this video I’ve realized that “having a life” and traveling is possible. Coming from someone who has self esteem issues and never considered myself good enough to become a doctor, thank you!

It was hilarious when you talked about going to class. Professors at my school always complain about us not going to lecture. Literally 6 people out of 70 will show up. But yeah I agree, you don't necessarily have to put your entire life on hold for 4 years but as with everything, there are priorities. Sometimes you have to choose your career, your future, etc over that wedding, party or family event. Such is life. *shrugs*

Man I remember in my undergrad when I switched programs things didn't workout properly, I wasn't able to take classes the way I wanted to since there was no room so I had to take like 4 electives and 1 core class, so I was left with taking like 5 core classes in the semesters after that. People kept saying there's no way I could handle it, but once I did it they didn't say anything else lol. My advisor at first didn't recommend it, he said I could if I wanted to but he said it'd be hard etc, but then my final semester he encouraged me to lmao.

Thanks for the encouragement. I am married with two children and it scares me that pursuing my MD will cause me to neglect my family. This video has made me more at ease with the hope of being able to be good in school and be a good father and husband.

Hello! Can you please talk about your schedule to prep for the SAT's? And what resources you used/what an ideal bachelors would be to prepare for taking an MCAT!! Thank you this would be *extremely* helpful and life changing!

Thanks I needed to hear this. I'm still trying to pursue becoming a doctor, but some days it's tough hearing how tough it is getting into medical school and how tough medical school is. I'm constantly wondering if I am good enough. Hearing your thoughts and experience just made me feel a lot better. I'm not afraid of hard work, so I will just have to keep grinding away.

I like how you are both quick to insult me---yet neither one of you have made ONE argument against anything I've said. Typical.

Damn, dude, it might be dangerous for you to be a doctor. You can't even focus during a conversation---and you're going to have people's health in your hands? You can't even defend what a doctor does, just say "I love doing it." YOU are what's wrong with medicine today, becoming a doctor with absolutely no idea of why you're even doing it. Goddam.

I'm glad you're transparent, I do often imagine a glomorized version of medical school with the prestige and no lifeness sometimes.. I watch Puneets videos and medbros, I love it. Do the medbros fam go to the same medical unis for reference?

Ever since I heard you mention the levels at which you perform. I also realize the reverse is also true
