What would you do when you think no one is watching? What Would You Do? (WWYD?) explores the varying answers with the help of hidden cameras capturing individuals who have been placed within seemingly everyday situation that quickly go ary. The individuals on this hidden camera show are forced to make tough calls when directly faced with situations of racism, violence, hate crimes, and other hot button cultural issues. Catch John Quinones reporting on these individuals as they make split-second decisions to intervene or mind their own business. WWYD? airs Friday nights at 9|8c on ABC.
What Would You Do? (WWYD) is a hidden camera show, hosted by ABC News correspondent John Quinones, in which unknowing bystanders are placed in uncomfortable, and often compromising real world scenarios in public. WWYD’s hidden cameras focus on the average person’s responses and reactions to these issues of social responsibility. Topics such as gay couples being affectionate in public, date rape, racism and racial profiling, interracial couples, abusive parents, drunk driving, and harassment of the homeless are touched upon in this series. What will you do? Would you choose to intervene in these situations? Watch and join the discussion.

When I got out of the military and waiting for my disability I was in the same boat as this dude. I get to the register and someone had gave the cashier 100$ for me, as I left the store in tears because I don't know who did this for me. I want to say thank you. After I got my disability straight, I was in line and the guy in front of me a Vietnam Vet was a day early from getting his va check and didn't have the money , so I paid for his groceries.

That's the God's truth. And the reason why they do it is easy - because they've been there. They've been the one standing there having to decide which necessary food items they will leave behind because they can't afford them. I would use my own grocery money to pay for the person in front of me if they didn't have enough because I can't tolerate anyone going hungry. There is NO EXCUSE in North America for even ONE person to go to bed hungry. We throw away enough food every day to feed every hungry and homeless person on this continent. It is a crying shame what corporations throw out. We grow enough food to feed everyone ten times over and yet we have thousands who are hungry. There's something seriously wrong with the food chain.

I've done the same thing. I went to a Circle K in Phoenix one morning for coffee. A woman stepped up and paid for gas with 1.49, saying it was all she had. I stepped up and put a 20 on the counter. As an veteran I can say I did two enlistments. Got out the first time was rough almost ended up homeless went in for a second enlistment and had a supporting wife who helped me move back into civilian life the second. it can be tough at time's to transition from military life back to civilian. Its difficult to explain but if you see a veteran in need help them, most are doing the best they can. Only way you can really understand is to do it, but something about leaving the military and going back to the "normal" can for some be rough.

The fact he's military says many things that you wouldn't know about people not in the military. Military salaries are public knowledge based on years and rank and active/inactive duties. We know they are low paid at the lower ranks and sometimes in poverty. We also know they signed up and willing to sacrifice their lives, be away from families, etc. We don't know those things about random people. Most of us agree in helping the needy but it's appalling to know that welfare recipients have cable tv, cell phones, internet, plenty of tobacco and alcohol yet still claim they are needy! Anyone willing to give up those non essentials would be graciously given to but until they give up those luxuries most tax payers view them as the lazy freeloaders they are!

The military is a different lifestyle & culture. I only did 6yrs & it took me a good 6mos to fully integrate back into being a civilian again. I hope those who can afford it, donate to veterans' charities that help veterans become just as valuable in civilian life as they were in the military.
