What would you do when you think no one is watching? What Would You Do? (WWYD?) explores the varying answers with the help of hidden cameras capturing individuals who have been placed within seemingly everyday situation that quickly go ary. The individuals on this hidden camera show are forced to make tough calls when directly faced with situations of racism, violence, hate crimes, and other hot button cultural issues. Catch John Quinones reporting on these individuals as they make split-second decisions to intervene or mind their own business. WWYD? airs Friday nights at 9|8c on ABC.
What Would You Do? (WWYD) is a hidden camera show, hosted by ABC News correspondent John Quinones, in which unknowing bystanders are placed in uncomfortable, and often compromising real world scenarios in public. WWYD’s hidden cameras focus on the average person’s responses and reactions to these issues of social responsibility. Topics such as gay couples being affectionate in public, date rape, racism and racial profiling, interracial couples, abusive parents, drunk driving, and harassment of the homeless are touched upon in this series. What will you do? Would you choose to intervene in these situations? Watch and join the discussion.

People don’t realize how poorly paid our military is. Especially for the first several years. My husband is now retired from the Marine Corp but we still live in a large military city. I have seen to many young service members and their spouses that have to use government assistance for the basics like formula, milk, diapers etc. We send these young men and women into combat yet they aren’t paid enough for the basics.

If you're broke while active duty, you made poor life/financial decisions. Commands give their people the knowledge to not fall into those pit falls, but some people are just prone to making shitty choices. The military literally gave me over 2k a month for rent at an apartment off base of my choice, on top of my regular bi-monthly and a food allowance.

I was in my early 20s with my 2-year-old at a grocery store, card was declined (auto payroll hadn't gone through when I thought) with a bill of $175.00. Stepped out of line to call my bank in a panic, when I got back in line to concede that I couldn't pay for them. They let me know another customer paid for me. They left without me ever knowing who they were. 5 years later I was finishing law school and doing fine financially. Picking up something small at Target the woman in front of me had her card declined while trying to buy school supplies for her 2 kids. She stepped out of line on her phone trying to sort it out. I was able to quickly pay for all her stuff along with mine and left before she could see who had done it. I was very happy to pay back that stranger's investment from years earlier. The world is full of good people motivating others to be good people.

I was stationed at the USAF Hospital (at Lackland AFB) in the mid 70's in San Antonio. Just went back for a week visit with another couple, everything looked so different after 40+ years, but the people were just the same. I did wear my USAF vet cap, and got many nods from other vets and active duty folks. I just started wearing my hat a few years ago, not every time I go out, but frequently it gets me into a conversation with guys who might never speak up . I have spent up to a half hour talking about the country and the military with strangers who I have one thing in common, our shared service.

Kevin I think she really means that it’s those who know what it is like will be more willing to give to those in similar times of need. I don’t necessarily think she was saying that those who have the least give the most money, money isn’t everything.

@Kevin The cost of living is fixed. Which means after a certain point, more money is just for increase in luxury and privilege and even perhaps helping others..... It also means that at a certain point, any less money for an individual or family will be a detriment on their ability to live. Therefore the poor gives more than the rich; sometimes even by their pennies, by how much it effects their ability to survive.

@Kevin read above. It clarifies your disagreement. And I am certainly not broke. Yeah but that did not affect their lives. Thats why their rich. They dont give if it stunts their growth. I come from a military family and it just breaks my heart when I see how much some veterans are struggling not just financially. And they just get ignored after they have put their lives on the line for us. Not only physically but emotionally too. Thank you to all who have served and continues to serve to protect me and my family. I can never ever repay you. ❤️🇺🇸

This put a tear in my eyes. I did a few tours overseas with over 200 combat patrols as a 11 Bravo. This hits home for sure. I got out of the military and used my G.I. Bill to go to school after 10 years of service. I remember having 10 dollars in my pocket only to buy a arms full of food and seeing two full shopping carts full of food for immigrants in front of me buying it with an ebt card and mebeing rejected for food stamps earlier that week for a retired veteran going to school with 24 credits only to be shit on. That broke me . I never really understood suicide and i can see now why a country we serve and ppl we serve can turn its back on us and why veterans die everyday to suicide . This broke me in that line that day. Thank you to everyone pulling the little you have to support everyone . That little lady said it best I have the love of God in me . God will take care of us. God Bless you all!

Mr Oof that’s how some people learn to speak. They pick up on the vernacular of their parents who picked it up from their parents. My grandfather spoke with a certain type of speech and so did my aunts and uncles. My dad would make someone correct me until I said words properly and not like him so I wasn’t picked on in school the way he was. If not for that, I’d talk much the same way as he and his father did.

I worked as a contractor for the US Army in Afghanistan. I am sad to know that the people whom I worked with are grappling with their daily lives . Even if it means that this is a televised act . I am all the more grateful for the good people around who won’t let our soldiers get away from the super markets empty handed . Much love to all the Soldiers and the lovely people of San Antonio . ❤

I'm from Dublin 🇮🇪 but I'd step up and do what I could pay or give as much as I had on me for the veteran. For any veteran. They are all heroes in my eyes. All wonderful, selfless, brave legends who I respect so much. I donated to The Gary Sinise Foundation and I hope to do so again when money isn't as tight. 🇮🇪 ♥ 🇺🇸 I'm not religious but I do believe in people and I think we all need to be a bit kinder to each other. We all need some more empathy, less judgement and to enjoy how it feels to do something nice for other people. For strangers. For elderly people. For disadvantaged people. For each other. We won't get far without one another.

It always makes me think of a scripture in the bible in Mark 12:41-44. And He sat down opposite the treasury, and began observing how the people were putting money into the treasury, many rich people were putting in large sums. A poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, which amount to a cent. Calling His disciples to Him, He said to them, "Truly I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all the contributors to the treasury; for they all put in out of their surplus, but she, out of her poverty, put in all she owned, all she had to live on." I have always loved this verse, it always helps me try to help others.
