What Wondrous Love is an adult/young adult Lenten/Holy Week study presented in cooperation with Candler School of Theology. The study features the art of John August Swanson and commentary by some of America's premier biblical scholars. What Wondrous Love is published by Morehouse Education Resources.

    Sadly, the commentators got it wrong. Jesus was not celebrating the Passover, a family occasion. Traditionally Jews gather with friends the day before and celebrate, then on the Passover they do so with their families. Remember that Jesus was betrayed after that meal, went through a mock trial and was murdered. Then his body had to be taken from the cross and buried before sundown so the Passover meal could be eaten. Jesus' Last Supper came during the first Friend meal, a full 24 hours prior to the Passover.
