And every decorating vlog. 🤪 When you eventually find the time and money to do it. I love your enthusiasm for cooking and gardening, but I think you're missing the relaxing and nesting gene. Post prandial relaxation in a cozy space might be what's missing. It would be for me. And, please, when you do begin accumulating furnishings, splurge on some classic basic pieces but hit auctions and thrift stores for the decorative/expendable things. NEVER 2nd hand a mattress. ❤❤ Not even for kids. Not even from a relative. Buy new sleep pillows at least every two years........take care of yourself.

I love how you get so excited and distracted looking at changes in your garden. You inspire me to do better. I just started gardening this year and I have never known how to cook. My mom was sick during the time in my childhood where she would of taught me and I’ve been afraid and always been with someone who cooked. But because of you I’m dehydrating my own food from the garden. I made lemon balm bug spray this year and calendula oil for a balm I’m making. I’m making elderberry syrup this week and I grew a ton of my own tomatoes from seed and I’m going to make your lemon 🍋 cleaner! I don’t have jars so I’m working on getting some and maybe I’ll learn to cook! Don’t stop making videos!! Love your channel!

Where do you all live? Im in tn(zone 7b) and I always count on 75% of my garden being destroyed by bugs, disease and scavenging animals, even with organic control and physical barriers! Maybe she only showed the most "perfect" produce but I really didn't see any of the damage that I deal with every season! From squash bugs to Potato beetles to cats to fungus to horworms to Japanese beetles to cabbage worms to deer to late/early freezes, storms etc, I can't imagine my garden ever looking as perfect and untouched as Becky's!

@@laurasimpson2870 I hear this a lot but my first garden was the worst! Since I've been controlling organically, the pressure has lessened slightly but the bugs found my garden immediately after my first planting and my house was vacant for 5 years before I moved in. @@pocasanchez I’m AZ low desert 9b. Rats love my tomatoes. I try to pluck them at the first hint of a blush. Melons need protection, too. Bunnies love the lettuce. I will cover the ones I want and then let them have the rest. I’m a vegetarian and I just can’t bring myself to do anything about them. I mean, the food looks good! I don’t blame them! But I watch these gardeners with an abundance of unblemished produce and it can be discouraging for newbies because the reality is between insects and four legged friends, the weather (here), and learning about inter planting and the right companion plants gardening is hard!! We don’t deal with deer at least. But for some javelinas are worse. And with mulch it invites scorpions. It’s just a whole thing.

I put little stakes and cages and large rocks out in the yard if there’s something that I want to save from my husband. Today I found a monarch chrysalis along the edge of a flower bed where a mower or a trimmer or just a shoe might possibly smash it. I put a tomato stake in the ground in front of it along with a rock just in case he thinks that I forgot the stake in the yard. In a few days the butterfly should eclose and then it won’t matter any more.

I would suggest some sugar pumpkins on a cattle panel. Better than sugar pumpkins for pies is the Butterkin squash. I swear they don't need much sugar at all to make them sweet. You don't get a lot off of them but the flavor is well worth the planting space. Anything little like this we trellis to save space.

I’ve seen videos recently where you prune pepper plants back, dig them up and put in pots and over winter inside by a window or under grow lights. Peppers are perennials in warm climates. The advantage of not just pulling them out, is that they take so long to grow from seed, you can then put the mature plant out once warm enough the following spring and you get loads more peppers much earlier on. Have you seen this or thought about doing it?

Amongst your weeds, looks like you have some wild lettuce. It you break off a leaf or stem you’ll find a white sap oozing out and it’s a little bitter. Wild lettuce is very healthy and medicinal. It’s also eaten if you have some body pain. I really suggest you look it up first before consume it. I must say you seem to be an expert on the “when and how” of all your plants and seeds. I really appreciate your enthusiasm for the fruits of your labor and your dedication you put in to your home life. Most other millennials seek fulfillment outside of their homes.

When you plant strawberries you should have your husband build a cage for them, strawberries are perennials and will come back year after year. But if you don't cage them, the SECOND they blush any red, they will get eaten. birds love them, squirrels, bunnies, there's 1001 "pests" that love strawberries in the wild and if you don't cage them right off the bat you will NEVER reap any benefits other than watching wildlife eat your fruit.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge of growing strawberries. I've been thinking of growing organic strawberries in a medium sized planter that has side pockets in it that look like 3"- 4" balconies🤭. I was told it was made for growing strawberries. I have missed growing produce for many years & I thought Strawberries🍓🍓 would be an easy fruit to grow in a container pot & easy to harvest too.

So I’m from Portugal where we have a lot of fig trees so they don’t grow up when you prune it you tie the branches down to the ground so the tree starts growing out and not up.

In my 20s my parents asked me to water their indoor plants while they were on vacation. I did and watered a few plastic plants as well( they looked so real). Felt so stupid when it happened. Mom joked and bought plastic plants for me every special occasion after that. So ya , I think you are my hero.

You're so sweet and a joy to watch. I love seeing all of your progress and crossing fingers I will have a fraction of what you have next year. This year was a test of my garden thumb so 78 5gal buckets with tomatoes is in the yard. I did get some dill and 2 small jalapeño on one plant. Apparently it loves dill since they were together lol. Thank you for taking time out of your day to share with us.
