Beautiful flowers. snap dragons are one of my favorites. I also love Lilies. you plant them once and they come back year after year. they get bigger and spread. Stargazer lilies, artisan lilies. they are not like day lilies, have a flower for 1 day. they last longer.

Crush up your eggshells and put a line of them around your beds. Slugs don't like crawling over them. Also plant some lavender, they don't like the smell

So many wonderful comments that express what I'm thinking as I watch. You are amazing, Becky. You have a beautiful home, and a beautiful garden. Even your videoing is beautiful. Those pink flowers in front of the green balls of ground-up garlic scapes was downright artistic. ❤

Hi Becky, your garden looks wonderful. I was wondering if you could share the sprinklers you are using in your Roma tomato beds. Would love to see a video just on your irrigation set up. Thanks.

Have you tried putting berries and herbs, even lettuce into mason jars? I am absolutely amazed at the extended life of those things. I wash them, dry them on a dish towel, then jar them. Fabulous!

I bought the Freeze Fresh book ( i thought it was about freeze drying) how ever after looking through the book I have come to the conclusion that if it freezes well it should freeze dry also except you might need to adjust the recipe to leave out fats and sugars.

Hi Becky, I recently purchased a HarvestRight Freeze Dryer and was so excited to get it on May, 2, this year. After getting the required wiring for the large size dryer, I was able to get it hooked up and couldn’t wait to get started on this journey I have waited for for about 30 years. When these machines came out. Well, I don’t know if you had issues with yours or not but that’s all I have been having! It doesn’t freeze and after calling multiple times, I was told the company would send me the boxes to have it picked up and returned to Utah. I had to send a log from the unit a couple times and tried water baths as instructed, but the unit still doesn’t work. These units are almost $4000 on sale for the large. I am a disabled widow and cannot afford to throw money around like this. Then they wanted me to send pics of the unit, all sides and the top. I sent them by email, but they said they didn’t get them. I submitted them again but still I was told they did not receive them although when I sent the email to myself and my brother, we both received the pics. It is extremely rare when I get confrontational, but that is where I am. My garden is coming along but the company has not even sent the boxes needed to return the unit. It ends up that without the pictures, they will not send me the boxes to get it returned. I think this is so crazy! I cannot tell you how many phone calls I have had to call and get calls returned, but I am so frustrated. I had to pay to get the machine, it was not given to me as yours and many other KZreadrs have gotten. I don’t like to spread bad news or product reviews but it is coming down to this. This is my 1st year of having a garden since my husband died 11 years ago. I have asked the company to send me a different unit but they said they won’t do that because it worked ONE TIME. I have wasted money on the food I purchased like strawberries, mushrooms, pineapples, apples, and other food. They did not offer to refund me for the broke down unit since it worked THE ONE TIME. When you buy a car, just because it starts and stops one time, does not justify the dealership to make the situation right. I don’t know if you have any pull with the company since you have the unit and recommend the purchase, I need all the support I can get to make the company do what’s right! When I was speaking with the rep the other day, I had to take the back off the machine, and take pics of the inside. When I pulled the unit out to do so, there was OIL on my bench. I took pics of the oil and the rep stated he got the pics. However, after sending pics at least 7 times I, since they say they didn’t get them, they cannot send the boxes to return the machine. They call it an RMA, but to not send and start the replacement of the unit due to not having pics is absolutely! I am not asking for my money back, I just want the machine to work! Even after they do take the unit back, I should say IF THEY HAVE IT RETURNED, It will take about 3 weeks to do the repairs which they say is possibly a Freon leak or not enough Freon in the unit to keep it from freezing. I don’t know if you would be able to contact them about this, but they need to know that I will not let them take advantage of me. As I said before, I have wanted one of the freeze dryers for apx 30+ years now! I appreciate anything you could do to make them know that I mean business, or I will start spreading the word about how the company is being lack in service. They brag on their ads that they have over 6000 techs but they are apparently only available on the phone to talk to. They do not have a schematic to look at so they understand what I’m telling them. The tech that I have been working with seems to not know what the unit even looks like. I guess the company is just trusting that they can make themselves sound good by the number of techs available. It’s an impressive number, but if they don’t know what they are looking at or talking about, the 6000 techs mean nothing. I may as well be working with 6 year olds that can answer the phones! Please, if you could just make a call, I would surely appreciate your help. Thank you, I love your show. You have taught me many things and I don’t honestly know how you do so much, like 22 meals in a day! Incredible!!!

When you were going to add scallions to your yakisoba....it looks like you added cilantro, not scallions. Was it still good after you did that? Thats quite a different flavor than scallions, just wondering if you would make it that way again? Or skip the cilantro.

So inspiring and beautiful. I, too, here in the 8,600’ altitude of So. Colorado I, too, harvested my second batch of herbs. Some to eat fresh, and dehydrated a bunch to begin building up my Winter’ seasoning. Today, I harvested flat leaf parsley, English Thyme, Dill, Rosemary and basil. A couple of days ago I pruned the lower non fruit producing (no flowers). Very interested in watching you do your cilantro. but sadly do not have a freeze dryer, yet. So, I think I will dehydrate mine…maybe buy some freeze dried, as I am buying freeze dried things for now, to extend my pantry a little bit in case things get even more crazy this coming year. I preserve a lot of my garlic in oil. Good tip on checking the farmer’s market for garlic scapes. I really really like the idea of making my own garlic powder. I have only been doing this for about a year so have a lot to learn and a lot of experience to gain. I am enjoying following you…and learning from your knowledge and experience.

Hi Becky! I really love your videos. Watching you harvest in your garden is wanting me to grow herbs. I live in a very humid climate (New Orleans) so what should I start out with that will be successful and keep me wanting to continue this project. I'm so excited and have wanted to do this for quite some time now. Thanks for sharing your cooking recipes and harvest time. 💛

When I make granola, I don't add the egg yolk, I like just the whites, and yes it's great to have a little clumpy granola..... on the granola bars I find when I put chocolate chips on top, I like spreading them out when they are warm, then when I cut them up I don't loose any chocolate. I love your videos, lots of great ideas! Always!❤❤❤❤

Have you thought of putting out lids filled with beer to deal with the slugs? I understand it does work to keep them off what you don't want eaten. Also, Jessica, Three Rivers, today was putting some blossoms in her freeze dryer to preserve them for future uses. Some she says puff up and are pretty that way. Would be fun to see how snapdragons and ranunculus would react to being freeze dried.
