@AbitofEverything4U

Cool point about the list of names in X-Men 2. Yeah, the Mexican wall was likely just being mentioned by DJT and others in 2014, but wasn't started yet. And I think the Sentinel Mark X being released in 2020 works really well, as it lets The Gifted still fit in the 2017-2018 range. We even see a different version of the sentinels in the show, that likely were an earlier Mark version.
6:45 I find it funny that here he is called Pietro, which is how he is called in both the MCU and the comics, however in actuality the X-Men Fox-verse refers to him as Peter.

Good point...yeah, that does seem abit strange, now that you mention it!
I think it would make more sense that Trask Industries announced in 2013 that they were building a Mark X Sentinel, but the model itself wasn't completed and deployed until 2020. Which could explain, "the dark forces" line that Magneto says to Wolverine in 2015 because now Beast is dead, so there's no one left to serve as a spokesperson for the Mutants. Meaning, that Trask Industries might have more freedom to ramp up Sentinel production. Also, another great video! I always love watching your channel! Keep up the great work!

First of all, this website looks absolutely incredible! Web designer should get a raise. Secondly, the x men clearly follows the sliding timeline model of the comics as they are always trying to say “the near future” . Although I think it’s fun to try to pinpoint exact years I think it’s impossible to do so.
@AbitofEverything4U
Ай бұрын
Great feedback! Yeah, I agree, the website is really slick and was a fantastic marketing tool. And the sliding timeline model may well explain the X-Men timeline, as I agree, it's so hard to pin it down specifically.
I think that the 2001 mutant Camp hugely affects Magneto, no matter which time frame you have it in. If the OG Trilogy takes place in the 2000s then it could explain why Magneto started his plan in the first movie so soon, and if it's in the 90s then it could be the major push Magneto would need to fully reactivate his powers after the Cure. So, at least that detail is a win-win.

I think this is an awesome way of expanding the world of the original X-Men films. Makes it feel more in-line with our world. I still remember the hype for DOFP to this day. It really felt like it was the X-Men's Endgame.

In my headcanon, Logan met Stryker again in 1990, after the events of Origins: Wolverine. And there they erased his memory again, at the same time patching up the bullet holes in his skull (in the first X-Men, there was no damage to Logan’s skull in the X-ray, despite the fact that Stryker shot him in the head three times)

Great questions! Yeah, I feel like they could give us a whole new trilogy of films to fill in some of those gaps. Definitely one of the coolest marketing websites I've ever seen!
Fascinating find! I think many events around the 2010s can be shifted to move closer to DoFP's date as those events around that time sees pretty dystopian and could fit better to happen a little bit later. Fun fact: Quicksilver is wearing a Pink Floyd shirt with the pyramid on it in DoFP, by the events of the movie that album hasn't released yet.

@@AbitofEverything4U Too funny! It was only a couple months that album came out after the events of the film. In regards to the website saying it was 2006 that LS takes place, I usually take what is stated in the films themselves above all else, with extended content being helpful to give more information, if it’s helpful, and relying on theories if need be. Though that 2005 magazine is something. Could be an error. I know there were some tie in material like comics and video games that were made when some of these movies where released (manly early movies). The Marvel Database has listed some of them as not canon because they contradict later films and some could be canon, supposedly like X-Men: The Official Game.

this makes me place The Gifted in 2011-2012 in my personal timeline because of the final scene with Blink, since they never really mention explicit dates in the show it makes sense that the show ends in 2012 right before she liberates mutants from the prison camps in the same year, then in 2013 Trask announce the new sentinels. Obviously this contradicts their own website with the 2020 date so who knows, perhaps they announced them in 2013 but for whatever reason they did not get released until 2020?
@AbitofEverything4U

That's a good theory...I could see the Gifted being in 2011-2012. It would explain why they didn't know where the X-Men were, with it being soon after the X-Mansion was taken over. Wow, there are so may different ways to place the entries in the original trilogy. Wild!

Oh yeah, that's right. I think that was in the movie itself. Very cool!
Didn't even know this was a thing. Nice little bit about the twin towers. I will say the Trask bit always now reminds me from rewatching The Last Stand that they didn't just make Trask shorter in the rebooted timeline but an entirely different race. Will never forget that. Also that Pietro bit is hilarious. I will say that this 25 moments thing as well as the Trask thing are leading me to suspect that the future of DOFP is actually in a second timeline and not the timeline of the first three movies. That way you can still have the original movies in the 90s but still have these DOFP events occuring later because it's a different timeline. Although that 2006 moment ... oof. Some wild stuff in these 25 moments though. But yeah the Mark X feels like it has to be 2020 if at all.
@AbitofEverything4U

Yeah, the whole Trask situation is quite hilarious indeed (who came up with that idea to recast so differently). I also loved the Pietro joke. And it's just so hard to figure out what to do with the OG trilogy. I do like it being in the DOFP timeline, but there are definite issues with trying to find the right location for it.

@AbitofEverything4U
Ай бұрын
I agree...it really does flesh things out nicely. I think it makes sense to call it canon.
Its 2013 when mark x sentinel got made , they annouced them in 2020. This is why wolverine is looking at that commercial - they are doing robot hands in 2013 to the public when 20 years ago they regrew limbs so they probably kept the secret project secret in 2013. Magneto and charles found out , so they go recruit wolverine. 10 years later , they cant win against the sentinels so they go back in time. If it was in 2020 when they attacks started happening , then 3 years fighting sentinels doesnt seem like enough time for xavier to come up with a time heist as a last ditch effort. It had to have had 10 years of being hunted down by the sentinels , but in 2020 trask went public with mark x so he could kill the mutants in office

Ah, the X-Verse, the bowl of spaghetti that will forever drive you crazy. :P I mean, even the website seems like it's getting stuff wrong. You pointed out the whole Sentinel X in 2013, but I was also wondering if that whole Xavier school in 1965 makes sense. Maybe I'm misremembering, but it seems like that clashes with Xavier's line of Scott/Ororo/Jean as his first students, right?

You have indeed been noticed...best of luck in the contest!
I love super obscure content like this, I mean I swear I'm the only one who knows about some obscure MCU content like rockets rescue run that even the MCU wiki doesn't mention, so to see more obscure stuff for the X-verse is super cool. This type of tie in content like WHIH Newsfront really helps with making it seem real imo. I do think that this is canon, and that the mark X's come in 2020, I mean that seems far more likely and they just made a mistake (typical fox) on their main page. As for how this impacts the original trilogy, I gotta say I think it's still in the 2000s, I mean the "not so distant future" that is right front and center has to mean something right? putting them in the 90s puts them in the slight past based on release date so that just doesn't work at all. Now thats not to discredit the very cool connection you found to Dark Phoenix, however at the end of the day do we take an easter egg or main timeline quote shown front and center in multiple movies? My money is on the ladder. I mean as you establish in that video not every connection (like the one to legion) works, so perhaps that was just an easter egg that kinda worked, and wasnt meant to be taken seriously. But either way it is really impossible to choose and unlike Iron Man 2 which is equally impossible imo, we dont have multiple definitive sources to say where it goes. Also some of these events are wild, angel dies in a protest, trask takes over the X-Mansion? WHAT? These are some awesome events that I really wish were in some kind of montage before DOFP, to show all this cool stuff. As it is I dont think we'll ever have more info then whats here, but its still really cool. I know its timeline kinda sucks and is full of continuity errors but they did such a cool job at connecting it to real world history that the mcu has really only done once with WW2.

Yeah, these errors can drive you crazy. Ultimately so long as things are in the correct order, everything should be okay if the years get a bit fuzzy. I have yet to get to The Wolverine and Days of Future Past on my non-MCU rewatch, but hearing some of the things happening inbetween those movies, it makes me wonder if there are actually any references within the movies, or if this is just purely marketing material. I suppose if someone was doing their job correctly, there would be a story bible, and that's where the marketing department was getting this from, but you can never be certain. And even if there was, it's possible it was never really closely followed. Also I have to laugh a bit at Bishop forming a movement in 2020 because man, things fell to pieces really quick in this timeline. In the Animated series taking place in the 90s, he's from 1955 and comes forward in time having grown up with everything already being pretty terrible. Is he like that in the movie? Is it ever explained? Did he actually know peacetime before war? I would think he'd have to, even as a kid, but still, seems like a bit of an odd choice to me. I'll find out how well it's executed soon enough.

@@AbitofEverything4U yeah they were great movies ... days of future past made one of the greatest cross overs before even endgame

Well said...I think that the X-Men timelines have enough issues in them that whatever allows each fan to enjoy them the most should be what determines their head canon for the timeline. I suspect we'll never be given an official timeline, so I'm totally down with each fan choosing their own. And yeah, DOFP is soooo good. It was Fox's Endgame and it still stands as one of the best of the X-Verse movies!
What does the history of the X-Men Movie franchise?

It's 25 moments in the X-Men History that tell us some really cool backstory on what happened between 1962 and 2023. Good stuff!
You didn't touch on how Kitty was in the pic with the collars

@@AbitofEverything4U Also, didn't they ever in universe call Peter Quicksilver or Blink by Blink? only like 2-3 characters got their codenames in the film.

Interesting...i've got virus protection on my computer and it didn't give me any issues, but perhaps you have a better virus protector. I've not had any issues with it, though, fwiw. But if you feel it may be unsafe, then perhaps it's best not to visit it.
Hell nah, the trilogy isn’t the 1990s 🤣

Yeah, I can definitely understand the skepticism about the 90's, as I felt the same way. But if you get a chance, check this short vid out: kzread.info/dash/bejne/kaJozNWEm6-nl8Y.html. It's interesting to consider, even if you still place the OG trilogy in the 2000's. Anyway, thanks so much for the feedback. Really appreciate it!
Just annoys me in the fox x men no mention or word of Wanda ?

There was maybe a brief shot of Wanda when we first met Quicksilver, but she wasn't given a name. I wonder if we eventually would have seen her in the movies if they had continued?

Hey again, now i know you have done a video on where you put the x men timeline wise but i found a video albeit 4 years old or so called I solved the xmen timeline by youtuber Ross McIntyre where he goes on to think that all the xmen movies and sequels and prequels are in different timelines and different earth or multiverse for each movie i think.its a decent video short and to the point not detailed like yours but check it out and see if it adds anything to your xmen timeline of events

Thanks for the reply and comments. I’ve watched a vid that threw out that theory and I’m not opposed to it, but it sure seems like the X-Verse movies treat first class to be in the same timeline as the OG trilogy and DOFP. So, personally, I like them all in the same timeline. But I definitely think that each fan is entitled to form their own canon for the timeline. So for anyone that feels the prequels and the OG trilogy aren’t in the same timeline, I think that’s perfectly fine. We probably will never find the perfect timeline, so each fan should go with whatever makes them get the most joy out of the series, imo. Thx again for the great feedback on the vid!
