    How about a video talking about calculating head flow needed for naturally aspirate motors? I'm building a 402 13:1 and trying to decide on heads.

    Thanks for sharing and I have question When the different between Gapless Piston Rings and a normal piston rings?

    I didn't see a follow-up vid covering gapless, etc. I'm getting ready to put a forged bottom end into my Ford 4.6 to make it bulletproof even if a twin screw were to find its way onto the Trick Flow heads I'm waiting for. Maybe 260-300 at the wheels N/A, shooting for 450 or so with a bit of boost. For engine longevity, what would you recommend for me? Manley crank, rods, pistons and rings. They offer gapless top ring, stainless steel top ring and ductile iron top ring. I'm slowly turning a GrampsMobile into my kind of 4-door sports car with help from ADTR, CHE, Moog and Summit. I have a question. I have a set of piston with just a number stamped on top. I am trying to figure out what brand they are. The number is 6012A3 nothing else on them. It’s out of a 350 Chevy motor. If anyone could help me that would be great. Thanks

    What about TotalSeal’s gas ported rings? None of the issues with gas ported pistons plugging up or creating uneven bore wear. No reason why you wouldn’t want to run them in any application in my opinion.

    Is it best to ask an engine builder to get the right rings you need even if you’re putting the rest of the engine together yourself? Also some nice “recipe” videos would be great. Without giving away too many secrets could you show like what it takes to make an engine hold up to different power levels?

    That springs job is to space the oil rings NOTto put pressure on the cylinder wall, a prime example of the blind leading the blind so to speak.

  • @foghornleghorn8536

    You want to back up and take another run at that one: The oil ring expander acts like a spring. When installed in the oil ring groove, *the rails press down on the expander and this action exerts pressure against the cylinder wall to produce a given tension which is used to scrape oil off the cylinder wall.*

  • @bullseye7128

    @bullseye7128

    It’s a tension ring, they are available in different tensions to apply tension on the cylinder wall. Your incorrect.

    Dudes talking in circles. First thing he says is the oil ring spring puts pressure on the bore then immediately after saying that says the oil scrapers are the only thing in contact with the cylinder wall.
