I think soaking the soft brick in water before cutting helps a lot. It allows you to cut with a powersaw. (doesn't take long - couple three minutes) No dust! Saves a lot of work!

MY HARD BRICK IS RATED FOR 2700 DEGREES AND THAT IS A GIOD THING PLUS THEY WILL OUT LAST SOFT BRICK... And to cut and shape I use a 3 inch masonry round blade wear a face mask and no problem.

but they are not for insulation purpose isnt it?
Maybe we could put our heads together here and design a forge that is made with hard brick then lined with 1 inch soft high heat bricks, if the soft ones get damaged then they can be switched out easily and one more thought maybe a thin hard brick could be used on the floor for those of us here love to forge weld... When I replace my old forge this is something I am thinking of trying
What is a good website to order the soft bricks to build myself a forge?
👍👍👍👍
