Hi Louise, thanks for the video. We moved to BC. in December 2020. from the UK, I found advil tablets 4 dollars in dollarama, got duvet covers from IKEA and also hay-fever tablets for 4 dollars from dollarama also. But great video, was watching you in the UK before we came to Canada. Would love to meet up with you and jake once the lock down has eased. You should visit BC. It is amazing here.

I find for Hay Fever, you can lessen the affect by using locally produced honey. But it takes a year or two for it to work. I guess you build sort of an immunity with the pollens used to make the honey. On your drives, stop by a local farmer's market and buy some local honey for tea or toast.

Duvets are popular here but are pricier than comforters. If you want duvet covers try Quilts Etc, (aka QE Home). Once Covid sanctions lift, you can find one in Limeridge Mall or Mapleview Mall (Burlington). QE Home has a great collection of covers. You can also find plainer duvet covers in Sleep Country stores. There is a Sleep Country off of Fifty Rd. just on the Niagara side of Hamilton, in the Costco mall. The Hudson's Bay also carries duvet covers (Penn Centre), as does Jysk or Bed Bath and Beyond.

Louise, you have to be really careful with using electric and electronic items from the UK here. Yes an adapter will allow you to plug them in here, but you have to make sure that whatever you are using is 'dual voltage ; as here the voltage is only 110volts compared to 240 in the UK. Most items will have that capability , but some do not. If an item is meant to run on 240 is only getting 110, it tries to draw as much as possible which increases the amperage which can either wreck it or maybe burn it! Also if the wiring in your house is not quite right or you have a dodgy relay (fuse) it can damage that too. I'm no expert but it needs checking out!

I don't know if you knew this but at shoppers and Walmart you can buy generic brands of tablets. They may not be as cheep as your UK tablets but for an example take the Advil and look at the ingredients and you will see a cheaper brand that has the exact same medicine in it. Same strength. I almost never buy name brand name Aspirin, Tylenol, or Advil. I just buy the generic brands. Shoppers generic is called life brand. And if you keep an eye out every few weeks they actually put alot of that stuff on sale. Especially in shoppers.

@@LouiseWareArmstrong Advil is Ibuprofen, we buy big bottles at Costco. The generic ones have to be just as effective as the name brands by law and it's very tightly controlled.
