Same thing with the basic 60k warranty. Obviously you need to ensure that the title isn't salvaged etc. I actually bought a used Ioniq 5 earlier this year. Interestingly the original Blue Link subscription transferred to me even though I was told it would not.

I know there are NDAs on the lemon-law buybacks, but I was under the impression that most were related to the ICCU issue causing the car to lose power. Since that has (apparently) been fixed with both software (and hardware as needed) updates, there is a chance that some of the inexpensive deals might actually not be bad at all. But as always, buyer beware...

Hopefully through this channel and the free marketplace, Hyundai will change what they’re doing. Just looked at the new consumer reports magazine. The ionic five has been removed from the recommended list still seeing reliability issues and of course those battery replacement cost are way too high they have to get into the Tesla category, and that only comes from mass production which is the result of increased sales volumes tough to do also, I inquired personally at a Kia dealership on the EV six long range battery replacement cost $57,000 here in California just insane so both Hyundai and Kia are off my radar screens Only looking at Tesla now

Also, the timing could be worse on this battery replacement cost here in California in Santa Monica. They are just opening an ionic store that is separate from the Hyundai dealer. Might be worthwhile to cover. If you’re in the area I was told it’s the only one that exists in this country.

Hey Corbin, you shared some pretty good information, however to suggest that 60k(cdn) is not out of line for a battery pack compared to other manufacturers I think is not accurate. I know on that "other KZread" channel that discusses in length the 60k battery issue they mentioned Ford's battery is around same price(tho it's a bigger pack) and VW is much much less and a similar size pack. In fact this has been discussed extensively in the id4 forum and a member posted the prices of an 82kw VW battery in the US ( approx 13k and change) and in the Canada 24k and change. And it is generally accepted that Tesla is in the 20-25k usd range for full replacement. I also happened to ask my Polestar tech(when I had a Polestar) what the cost for a new battery installed was (before this 60k battery stuff hit the news)and he said he didn't know because he hasn't replaced an entire pack. He said he has replaced a module or two and that costs a day labour to re and re the battery pack and about 600 per module. So if one module is that price it's hard to see it climbing to 60k. This was Polestar Toronto. This has honestly soured me against Hyundai. I've owned 6 EVs, a model y, ioniq 5 AWD, gv60 performance, Polestar 2, Bolt, and id4. I've got a deposit on an i6 but I think I may pull the plug on that as this is a pretty big issue that I think would be in Hyundai's best interest to resolve.

Regarding buyback, for hyundai to put it back on the market it means they fixed the issue and that the car still holds up to Hyundai standard. They said sometimes they do it just to satisfy the customer.

Hi there! Love the video as I am currently shopping for an Ioniq 5. I found a great deal on a '23 limited AWD. However it is unfortunately a buyback. I was able to search the VIN on Hyundai's website and found that it was for a "ICCU INSPECTION & S/W UPDATE OR ICCU/FUSE REPLACEMENT" and "VCU UPDATE AND OWNER'S MANUAL SUPPLEMENT". The dealership selling the car has verified that the issues have been resolved. In your opinion, do you think these issues could come up again?

I have a I5 AWD 2023. Love the car but have experienced dead 12v-battery on FOUR occasions in one year. The dealer seems to be incapable of solving the issue. Last time happened just a couple of weeks after the new software update which included better charging was installed. So disappointed…

just replace your 12v, the factory ones are garbage and then the failed charge management shortened their already limited life, if you live somewhere warm I would strongly consider putting in a cheap lifepo4

One other big issue is Ioniq 5's that are left for weeks at 100% charge, I even had that issue on my last 2023 Ioniq 5, I used my app to run the climate control to bring it down to under 90% when it was sitting at the dealer waiting for my pickup after a number of service appointments even after I set the AC charge limit remotely. Dealer training still sucks!

I am still dealing with charging degradation and might lemon law my car if they can't fix it. With all of your content I would bet that 99% of lemon laws are: Panel gaps, trunk rattle, charging degradation, dead 12 volt (fixed down to 10% now and bluelink fix).
