I hope it gets a bit cheaper. The prices are still too high to be competitive to ICE cars.

As a currrent EV6 owner, I'm okay with the interior changes. The sofvtware is the most important, and it would be great if the older cars could be updated as well, The front end design is a bit off-putting. I'll have to see it in person, but I'm just not feeling it

I really dislike the front of the new EV6. I’m one of those on that side of the fence. I wish they’d stuck to the current front design. Oh well, I’m now driving a new Tesla Model 3, and loving it. If I had the money, I’d get either the Ioniq 5N, or the EV6 GT (current), or the Genesis GV60 performance

  • @TheIoniqGuy

Doesn’t look it. From what I’ve gathered, EV6 owners don’t seem to think it’s as big of a deal as with Ioniq 5

As an EV6 owner for 1.5 years, I haven't missed a rear wiper. The aero does a better job of keeping the window clean.

AWD IONIQ 5 Limited with no rear motor noise even when just using the rear motor only. Was that a RWD thing? EV6 square themed wheels is trying to transition this from a crossover to a SUV related to the EV9. I’d ok with the DRL’s but the horizontal connecting part needs to be hidden in the day and visible only when the head lights are one. Hopefully it’ll be thin as well. If the second color of the steering wheel matched the paint I’d be ok with that or atleast compliment the seating color that also compliments the exterior color. 11:57

Is it safe to assume that they’ve modified the required interval for the coolant flush like they did for the 2025 Ioniq5?

  • @amperformance7998
    @amperformance79987 сағат бұрын

The EV6 has a different cooling system than the early Ioniq 5. It doesn't require that special maintenance.

Current EV6 owner (2023 model), which I love. Nothing on the new model that I love but nothing that I really dislike either. Headlights are fine, wouldn't be a deal breaker, but prefer the current model version. Like the new infotainment system, don't care either way on the new steering wheel, great that wireless carplay will now be available.

  • @michaelcollier8768

Whooah, the new batt is sweeeet. The infotainment systems is the brains of the car so new, and different, is a big deal. That being said, I understand where you are coming from. When the 2025 Ioniq 6 comes out it will be the same situation for me and I will still be happy with my 2023.

I agree 100% with your analysis of the EV6 facelift especially the part about the front headlights and the new wheels. The EV6 is very different from the other EVs in Kia's lineup which are more boxy with maybe the exception of the Kia Niro. I just hope they add more exterior color options in the GT-Line trim.

The ride quality in my 22 Wind AWD is much better than a model 3 (pre highland refresh). EV6 to me is a more engaging drive if you use the regen paddle shifters to change the driving dynamics. The Model 3/Y is a get in sit down, drive and forget about most of the experience. My wife has a Model Y and I have an EV6. They both have pros and cons. It comes down to what you are looking for and how you use the car. Lots of long drives? Tesla in car charging navigation is leaps and bounds better than EV6. raw charge speed (if you get a working charger) the EV6 is way faster than a model 3.

Everything is always possible regarding a software update. If it happens it likely will be done after the refresh models are out for a few months and then done quietly. This gives their salesmen the ability to say this feature is only available on the new model when they have both the new and older models in stock. They did the same thing with the ability to preheat the battery in the first year models as it was not available at all until a future software update on the AWD models since the RWD models didn't come with the ability to preheat the battery in the first year.

Just came here to say: I solved an overheating problem for my I5 - I cleaned my J1772 pins with Q-Tips (one per pin) and 90% isopropyl alcohol based on a tip I read on Reddit (the Redditor suggested cleaning them like you're brushing teeth) - please try at your own risk - but it worked perfectly for me. My I5 had started having this problem two days ago in Yosemite at a destination charger in the park. Shutting down after only 30 minutes or so, and it kept happening even after I got home. And I typically have it dialed down to 90% (36 amps) which is plenty fast for my purposes - but cleaning the pins worked! The thing charged overnight to 80% with no problems, no slowdown, nothing. It just worked.

We have been lucky on ours or we just happened to get a good battery. 52k miles on it now and still no 12V battery problems, think it said 98% SOH on a battery tester.

Thanks, Corbin. Getting C3 now after finding your endorsement. Been looking at it for a while now but felt like factory HDAS was sufficient. I solved "Hands on the wheel" nagging problem by attaching half-pound wrist exercise weight to the steering wheel. But during my last 800 miles trip from Boston to Quebec I discovered that HDAS (besides usual shortcomings of not reading half-visible lane markings) would often oversteer itself crossing inner line. And I wasn't even going above speed limit. It would start beeping at me as in "you are crossing the line!" but would not correct itself. I drive 200-300 miles a week on highways so hoping C3/Sunnypilot will make my life with Ioniq 5 even more fun.

That's awesome! I'm truly missing it in my Ioniq 6 since I've been driving that a lot more lately than my Ioniq 5. Apparently the SE trim with HDA 1.5 isn't supported yet (praying it does soon) so I can only use it in my Ioniq 5 SEL. Had I known this, I would have likely gone for an Ioniq 6 SEL just for SunnyPilot.

I have all of the updates and now I am having this issue even at public free chargers at 6kw. It’s really irritating to come back from dinner and I only added 2%! I’ve had to throttle back 48 amp at home and now have to go all the way to 32. I think they need to pay something to us for false advertisement. I paid a pretty penny for this car!

Some other considerations. First I do live in Europe and have 240V or 3 *240V. Next consideration: I do have solar panels. Buying electricity from grid is 22 eurocent to 35 eurocent. Selling electricity from my panles to the grid is only 8 cente back. The best I can do is charge my car with the same amount of elkectricity My panels are generating. Even if the loss is 9% instead of 6%. Next..when there is no sun. My house has a connection with 2*25Amps. I have more electricity using equipment. Could be better to chare at 5KW (3*8amps) than with 10,7kw (3*16 amps). To prevent over usage in the house (with extra fire risks). However. In the night I can charge with full power of my level 2 charger.
