For Me, I'm not going through the pains of building a brand new home only to sell if after 5 years. That to me is crazy as it's going to be a headache. I guess I'm old fashioned in that when I build a home I plan to stay in it until the end of time or my time. Which ever comes first. I'm building my dream house on my dream land in my dream state way out away in the country as soon as I get the money to do so. I hope to make the whole process as stress free as possible because already thinking about it and learning about it is stressful! LOL

I had a builder take my deposit then turn around and sell the lot to somebody else and returned my deposit. Well isn't the whole purpose of a deposit is that it's sold to me and earnest money is given to hold it until the deal is closed??? How can he do that? I was so pissed.

Great content. I would love to hear your thoughts on the pros and cons of buying the lot/land in these communities vs buying the house. What’s the best decision for the buyer in the long run.

Thanks newyork20004, in general houses are a better bet, simply because they appreciate faster and produce income along the way. I'll see if I can talk about that in an upcoming vid.

Ray First of all great job on these videos I appreciate the depth and quality of the content you produce. I' m a recent transplant to the Austin area and looking to build with one of these production builders. What would you consider a Good vs a Bad floor plan from a design standpoint?

Hey Ray, would you be able to recommend a couple builders? Also would you be able to recommend a couple neighborhoods, in the Leander, Cedar Park or Round Rock area? I really enjoy your videos they are very helpful. Thank you!

Kayla M, I can try, but it really depends on budget and what you are after. I'm happy to do a 15 minute convo if you want. That way I can make better recommendations based on you. Just go to www.wheretoliveinaustin.com and book a slot (if that would help).

@@WhereToLiveInAustin Hi Ray, I completely understand. My husband and I currently live in Sparks Nevada. We have wanted to move to the Austin area for the last 7 years. We are hoping this next spring we will be able to make the move. We have made several trips out there and really enjoy the Round Rock and Cedar Park area. Our budget would be 275 to 300. We are just trying to gather as much information as we can so we can be prepared. Hopefully we can talk more soon. Thank you for getting back with me!
