idk about it not being cost effective. The fly larva thing is essentially free if you have the right environment.
do your fish feed has fish oil

Yes Purina Aquamax contains fish oil

@@idratherbehomesteading2632 my country has no fish food for months I was just about to buy a bag on line an it has fish oil I was just wounding what will it do to my water I have a close loop system

Well I am no expert but so long as you aren't overfeeding and leaving uneaten feed in there it shouldn' cause you any issue. I have a closed loop system and it has not caused me any issue. The feed I use is a floating pellet so you can see if there is any left uneaten and remove it if needed
